Just got done talking to va.gummy...he's a fan of those old 'walking' pov players like LordVader, so I found a recently played demo of (gulp)a euro-player, slippi. Strange to see such a recent, euro-player pov resemble real old school movement and tactics. Enjoy gums!

Posted too to contrast most of the 1v1 dm1 demos here of speed-based povs. Folks if you think about it, you both aim AND move in a direction with your mouse. If your movement is both minimal and strategic, you can really concentrate on aim. This is why medicore dm players can own on rail servers: They already move well(from playing a mod that REQUIRES you too), so most of the mouse-work goes into aim and flick.

How do you say your name? : D

is it:

1 - "Guy - n"
2 - "Gin" (as in the alcoholic drink)
3 - "Gine" (like wine)
4 - what else could it be?

Like #2, but with a hard 'g'...it was OBxGYN, but i just concentrate on gynecology now, hence GYN

Yeah, I love watching demos where someone plays different than the current norm (purri wannabes and/or aimwhores), it's refreshing and you don't go "half decent, but I've seen it all before and oh so much better, nothing new at least". You just go "oh, intresting, maybe I can pick up a few new tricks here?". That's why I barely if ever watch q2dm1 demos anymore, non-league games are downright boring unless something spectacular is happening or entertainment in other ways.

What I miss though, is some top players having good old Remer/Julios/etc movement and playing style, strictly non-strafe, just circlejumps all over even for speedjumping. Only recent demos I think reminded me of that way of playing, were the ones Audacity posted on q2players vs b100d. I still remember those, because his style was so different and nice.

Main reason I enjoy duels over teamgames is the way they portray the players' movement, as well as mapknowledge. 4v4 shows more position/teamplay as well as combatskills, which is nice and all, but not always my cup of tea.

Oh, and most annoying movement ever has to be Scooby

yeah, interesting style clash being that he's against the person notorious to adapting to any opponent's style.
