Hey Yall!!! Nice Servers!!!

Just wondering whats going on with some recent invisible players. I am not sure how many people have seen it, but it really only seems to happen on a couple levels. Everytime, the person who is invisible, really has no idea. They think they are playing a normal game, but really, no one can see them $:-\$ . When chased, they are still invisible, and sometimes they will re-appear, but the skin will not change from what it was. Anyone else experience this?? Later!

Yes I have twice now, and I don't have the detector skin.

whew, glad its not me! I checked and I don't have any extra skins or models either. It typically goes away after the level, i was just curious.

It seems that some combination of recent software upgrades and settings is causing this. We're trying to track it down...

Heheh... If I hadn't recently seen a relevant South Park episode, I wouldn't have had any idea what you meant by Moses... lol... too funny. (As you may also know this is the Master Control Program from Tron. But I'll answer to Moses...

I was attacked by invisible player this morning, and I can tell u I knew it immediately. So, I let it play out some more as I was still winningl; to find out I wasn't crazy so i spec ed him. He for sure knew he was invisible, and he later came back visible. I dont think this is a glitch. It is very obviously a hack and a good one. I must say sure u guys may get all flipped out and think its cheating, but I kinda like it. Watching him through first person was like an episode of Hollow Man. U really never know how close he is. He just has to move to the sides of the hall and he becomes very hard to hit. Great hack I want it myself. Not that I'd ever use it here tho.

Hmm... Well - the thing is, it happened to me the other day.

At the time, late at night, the server was on base1 and there was only one other player on when I joined. It was the most bizarre thing, because I would go shoot at this guy, and he was crouching and looking around, but not directly engaging me and fighting back. Finally he points out that I seem to be invisible!

So there's definitely something glitch-like going on... Unless during a schizophrenic episode I loaded up my own quake2 folder with cheats! Heheh...

It could be a glitch that some people are starting to figure out how to exploit deliberately, I guess. I dunno. But the invisible players I've seen so far seemed to have no idea, genuinely, that they were invisible, like me.

Actually, shortly after Q2 got up and going, there was an invisible player hack. I played against a number of the cheating f**ks and they all new damn well they where cheating some even bragged about it. So the hack is an old one but it is out there.

For the first time, I noticed a player today that was invisible to me. He had the male/grunt skin on (as did a couple others). I went to spec and he appeared normal, but that was after a map change.

Yes I figured out so far that this bug usually attacks (usually) the last person to join a game. It will usually last for one map and stop but sometimes it will continue on the next map but when that happens it usually targets a different player randomly. This also explains why you can disconnect and reconnect since it normally attacks the last person or so to enter a game.

Keep in mind it doesn't always follow this pattern but it usually does from what I have seen

It's not a hack, it's not a cheat..its simply a very annoying bug.
