When Google says it didn't find anything click the option that says, "* Find web pages that contain the term "kitty1.stanford.edu".  There's a bunch of links, but I didn't really look at them all.  The first link was for some kind of Three Stooges bot.

If I'm not mistaken, it was one of the world's first, if not THE first QuakeWorld dedicated server in existance.

brent was closest, it was the place to be in nq q1.  Deathrow, k9, xp, postal, all played there.  You were a nobody unless you played on kitty1.  Was not uncommon to see matchups like thresh b2 kornellia dmann vs unholy reptile da5id gollum on a daily basis.
