Hey I was checking out the map on the server and there's a lot of wasted detail in the map that bogs down slower systems. I explained alot of my findings to Quadz while he was there and I said I'd post about it.

I've attached a couple screens that show an example of extra polys. On the ladders there's visible edges that can be trimmed down. Same thing on the central citadel where the RG is, the floor is wider at some points than the base.

Even on the Pygmy maps I can get 60-85 fps (cl_maxfps 85) but on this map I get no greater than 45 (timerefresh gives 85).

Maybe it's my system only but if more people experience this I think we should choose a different map. One that can be ran smoothly by all involved.

\/ Notice the glitches in the textures. It should be a smooth flat texture.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention sigma, I will review this information and come to a decision.

OK, this map will continue as planned. A backup map will be chosen in case of any problems, but really, just try lowering the detail slightly, or the resolution

You didn't ask for opinions and can set the map to whatever.

Good
- the map looks great, it has good "bones"

Bad
- lots of unarmed players
- perhaps not enough ammo
- rail camping

Ugly
- lots of telefrags
- frustrated slow motion ladder climbers

Quality will depend upon number of players.

Yeah, not too crazy about this map either. Was this map decided on in the other thread? How'd it come to be "the one" ?

Reminds me of a potentioally good KOTH map.

Keep the central arena and ditch the other wings.

Rail is on a perfect vantage with armor all around by slow ladders.
