well, not familiar with it, but i'd suggest dropping it in your baseq2, or quake directory. One of those will work.

Yep, baseq2. or I think even in the folder of the specific mod you want it used in.
but baseq2 will work for any mod. you hacker... j/k

They all go in c:\quake2\baseq2. If you look there you'll see pak0 and pak1 which are your basic Id Quake2 game paks. I think Quake will only recognize 0---> 9. Because you may want to try out several different paks that have the same number, just rename the dormant one to pak99 (for example) and put in your newer pak9 to try it. If you want the earlier one just delete 9 and change 99 back to 9. There are a bunch of them here:

Aprq2 recognises 0 to 99 paks

Ok, I put the Pak file in baseq2 at the beginning but I don't see any of the bright skins when i cycle through my players and there respective skins. What I was asking is if there was something I was supposed to DO in order for Q2 to open the pak file and load the skins ???

Depends on the file format of the skins and client you are using . Plus if you have any paks higher then pak9 there may be skins in one of those and over writing the pak9 .

But basicly if the skin format is tga jpeg png or anyhthing else if you are running 3.20 quake2.exe you wont see them . Veiw the readme in the client you are using and that will tell you what file formats that client suports. plus grab a pak editor from the link Recycled provided and look inside it and see what file format the skins are . Defult q2 uses .pcx . If you are still unsure post the pak here and I will take a look at it .

They are in PNG and I am using r1q2 client. I only have Pak 0, 1, and 2. Mabey I should rename it to pak3 ???

nope . U may need to rename it though , how is the pak named ? pak9.pak or just pak9 . Try switching that around a little .

Hey also make sure your using vid_ref for richq2 not sure the command cause I use nocheat .

Got it !!! It's named pak9.pak, but what I needed was to enable R1gl. Thanks for every one's help.
