Does anybody know a good recource for q2 server admining. I may be running a server and im really just lookin for the best way to go about with Bot Protection. I want the playing enviroment to be cheat free. It would also be a OSP Quake2 Server.

i'd suggest using r1q2 dedicated server and q2admin.  That will give you the "standard" for bot protection.  Its actually substandard anymore, cuz several server admins have added there own coding.  It will also run the smoothest possible for the connection, and allow for lightning fast map downloads(If the clients are using r1q2).

 Cheating will never be stopped in a proactive manner.  It will most likely forever take human admins watching everything going on.  i'd suggest to start downloading bot demos now and learn what they do and don't look like.  There is a pretty good collection of demos and associated comments in the Bot Drop section, and some are also posted under the Demos section, and some in the Downloads section at entry before for the forums.

The smoothest play possible will come from a server running r1q2 dedicated server and q2admin with clients using r1q2.

Good Luck in your adventure.  Also Download OSP Tourney and read the readme's.  That will be your source for server commands.  Also grab the stock q2 commands guide for use with Q2Admin.
