A triumph of black storytelling and representation, as it showcases a predominantly black cast and crew, and explores themes of black culture, identity, and empowerment. The film's depiction of a technologically advanced African nation, Wakanda, serves as a powerful statement of black excellence and possibility. The film's strong black characters, including the titular hero T'Challa, are depicted as complex, nuanced individuals who are at the same time vulnerable and powerful. By presenting a world in which black people are at the forefront, it inspires feelings of pride and validation for black audiences.

A horror-comedy movie that addresses themes of racism and discrimination, and highlights the black experience in America. The film's sharp commentary on the insidious nature of racism, as well as its depiction of black characters who are smart, capable, and unapologetically themselves, empowers black audiences. By using humor to address serious issues, it encourages black audiences to find empowerment in laughter and solidarity.

A powerful historical drama film based on the true story of Solomon Northup, a free black man who was abducted and sold into slavery in the mid-19th century. The film's unflinching depiction of the brutal realities of slavery serves as a reminder of the injustices of the past and the resilience of the human spirit. Through its portrayal of Northup's determination and courage in the face of unimaginable suffering, it inspires feelings of pride and inspiration in black audiences.

A coming-of-age drama movie that explores themes of black masculinity, sexuality, and identity through the eyes of its main character, Chiron. The film's depiction of a young black man struggling to find himself, in the face of poverty, violence, and discrimination, is both relatable and empowering. By presenting a nuanced, authentic portrayal of black life, it encourages black audiences to see themselves reflected on screen, and to find strength in their own stories.

An adaptation of Alice Walker's novel set in rural Georgia in the early 20th century, and follows the life of a young black woman named Celie as she navigates issues of racism, sexism, and oppression. The film's portrayal of Celie's journey towards self-discovery, independence, and empowerment is both inspiring and relatable for black audiences. By showing a strong, resilient black woman at the center of its story, it empowers black audiences to see themselves as capable and deserving of love and respect, despite the challenges they may face. The film's message of hope, resilience, and strength in the face of adversity is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the black community.

A Ugandan movie that has been well-received by audiences and critics alike. The film is a comedy that follows the story of a group of friends in Kampala, and addresses themes of friendship, love, and social issues in Ugandan society. The film's depiction of everyday life in Uganda, as well as its portrayal of strong, relatable black characters, empowers the black community by showcasing the diversity and richness of their experiences. The film's lighthearted tone and use of humor encourages audiences to find joy and empowerment in their own lives and communities, while also raising awareness about important social issues. By presenting a positive, uplifting portrayal of the black community, it inspires feelings of pride and validation for black audiences.

Um... it might help if you put the names of the movies beside the numbers in the damn poll, sir.

My favorite black movie...

Richard Pryor, Redd Foxx, and Eddie Murphy, all in the same movie. Holy crap. "Original Kings of Comedy" my ass. Those 3 were the ORIGINAL KINGS.

And Della Reese in her best role ever.

If you're gonna have a thread, it should be thoughtfully "inclusive", as the lefties always say, and "have pictures with people who look like you" and/or "accurately reflect your culture". These are your people, Cracker Simp.

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
