ignore nick commands

hi all,

Just wondered how to use the ignore command?

do i need anticheat for it to work as ive tried it and cant stand it, plus its adds 10 or so to my already high enough ping.

ive tried stuff like
eg:

ignorenick 888
ignore nick 888
/ignorenick 888

and so on , and yes ^ its very annoying seeing the word hax every time he doesn't win 

if it does need anticheat then i suppose ill just have to put up with it, tried loads of diff clients and they all increase my ping.
Was hoping its serverside? but probably not

Which client are you using?

The "/ignorenick" commands above should work with q2pro.

q2pro also supports "/ignoretext"

If you're using r1q2, then I believe it's "/ignore something"

that explains it then , im not using any client as they all seem to make my ping worse, q2pro,r1q2,patch 3.24 etc all the same, so i just run an old anticheat prog called nocheat as it lets me use a xania railtrail without affecting ping, i hoped the ignore command was server side but obviously not   
obviously i dont cheat if u check my stats lol, only started playing it again in last year after not touching the game since around 2007 and just ran my old q2 backup.
