Neural Hires Textures and Models

These look really interesting. They are a lot like Fragger's hi-res models but not so distinct from the vanilla experience, and it includes very well done textures. I would say these are the best higher resolution models, monsters, and textures I have seen that do not deviate at all from the original game.
 They do, however, only work with PNG supporting ports. Specifically Q2pro (the best) and KMquake2 ( a little slow to load but otherwise fine). Yamagi should work too. R1Q2 can not seem to handle the models unfortunately.

I put them into a couple of pak files for easier handling.

Pak16 is env, models, and pics. Pak17 is the textures.

Upon further review...the textures are very good, but at least one is not done so the texture pak on the Yamagi site is still the most complete ever even though they are not as epic as these Neural textures.

Just comparing the two now I can see how  good these Neural textures are while keeping the atmosphere of the originals, but making them sharper looking at the same time.

 The upscaled weapons and items do all seem to be there though, in this Neural stuff; unless you are using r1q2 of course.

Cool. Didn't know about these. Thought I remembered somebody mentioning something about a "neural textures" technique or something so I searched it and found this old thread.

The Calinou textures aren't awful, and I didn't get to see all of them in action, but I did notice that the gunner monsters face in particular looked kinda weird, almost like a used car salesman's smile. :D

The Fragger monsters are better. However, they must've been made with another client in mind, because with R1Q2 they are too bright. I also notice extra textures in every folder, which look like bumpmap textures (obviously for another client with funky lighting/reflection effects). Probably wouldn't bee too much trouble to go through it and toss out the extra non-R1Q2 files and darken the skins. Some of them I'd kinda like to take a whack at modding further and possibly including them in my next pak. I'll have to see if I can contact the guy who made them and get his okay.

If you know of any other similar high res add-ons, post em. I'd like to find something similar to the Fragger monsters but for the male/female/cyborg player models to use as a base for making some new brightskins.
