Adding WallFly to a Q2 Server

WallFly is our Q2 server bot (somewhat similar to an IRC bot.) It allows players to hop between participating servers (via the GOTO command) as well as to broadcast invites requesting other players join the server where they are playing.

If you'd like to add WallFly, your server will need to run the q2admin mod. (In particular, the "say_person" command must be enabled. This is done within the q2admin.txt config file: say_person_enable "Yes")

WallFly will also need to know:

• A short "GOTO" name for your server. (E.g. "RAD-RAILS")
• A short description of your server. (E.g. "RAD Clan InstaGib - Canada")
• Your server's IP address and port. (IP should be static.)
• Your server's rcon password. (Kept strictly confidential, obviously.)

Easy: The server owner should contact me with a removal request, supplying the same information they provided when they requested WallFly be added to the server.

That is, send me a private message with the server's IP/port/rcon so I can verify they are the owner. (This is the same information they would have provided when adding WallFly originally.)

(Of course, if they are in a hurry, they can also just ban WallFly's IP. But I would appreciate being contacted with the details above, so I can remove the node on this end as well.)

What servers? I am thinking these are mostly Claire's PacketFlinger servers, from what I see in q2servers.com (goto pf-tdm-uk, goto pf-tdm-nl2).   

The wallfly system provides a way to see activity on q2 servers worlwide and move between them w/o knowing an ip address. Why would you want to get rid of it?  Wallfly is set to use minimal bandwidth and you can just ignore that ghost player.

Hello, So far I have everything setup my server and q2admin-tsmod. I am trying to get my coop server on the WallFly list. So far I have seen Wallfly passed around especially on the TS500 server I could be wrong but that is what I observed. I believe that I have to request my server to be added on the list. Does anyone have access to the q2admin-tsmod network? I understand that ever since at the time of Quadz passing, no has access but I believe someone else took over but I'm not sure on this. I now have a Static IP set for my coop server. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks.

Hey Stross, you could try pm-ing the admin account. That is how I got Quadz to hook me up, so maybe there is another person with access to the admin account now.

 I'm seeing that Claire is now the administrator. I have sent him a pm recently so that's all set. Though, I have since yet to hear back from him. Thank you rikwad.
