Christmas & New Years 2018 thread

It's Christmas time! I like Christmas threads. Haunted likes Christmas threads. We both like boobies... I mean... who doesn't? Even lesbians like boobies.
CHRISTMAS BOOBIES! (No nudity! Boobies the whole family can enjoy!)
And of course, as per tradition, I will again post a link to the old out of print Matt Rogers' Rated X-Mas album. It's not that good. Very juvenile. Just a bunch of dick and pussy jokes sung to the tune of Christmas songs. But it's free, so what do you care.

I know it's the season for GIVING... but fuck it, I'm selfish. So let's talk about ME.
I was reeeeeeeeally hoping I could go out and buy myself a brand new guitar amplifier head, a 100 watt Orange Rockerverb 100 markIII. Been salivating over them ever since I happened across one at Atlanta Discount Music back in spring. They're priced at about $2100 though. After a few unexpected bills late this year, that's just not gonna be doable. Maybe if shit goes smooth the first part of 2019, I can have the cash in hand by spring or summer.
Already had plans for customizing the look of it. It's in a big ugly bright orange enclosure, so I was gonna get some "01" decals to go on the sides, and confederate flag for the top middle, some "General Lee" script text to go on the corners, and a Dodge Challenger badge for the front of it, make the thing look kinda like the Dukes of Hazzard car. Or not, I dunno, might just leave it the fuck alone and not be such a douchebag.
I did try out a little used Jet City JCA20 mini head, and it actually sounded pretty decent. They wanted 250 for it, and it sells for 300 new. But it's a one channel amp with no effects loop. I kinda want switching between a clean and overdrive sound. I also kinda gotta have an effects loop so I can used the "send" to feed the head into my rack if I want to run the power through the Peavey poweramp or just run from the preamp section of the head into my Marshall preamp and Digitech processor for recording purposes. And even if I don't do any of that, I still want a loop between the preamp and poweramp to add some delay and reverb pedals (whenever I get around to buying them).
But Jet City does make a 2 channel + effects loop version of that head called a JCA22. They're marked at 350 right now on Guitar Centers site, which is totally doable. So maybe after Christmas, I'll put in an order for one. It's no Orange, but it'll do until one shows up. So tired of playing this shitty Marshall JMP1 preamp. Paired with this 6L6 tubed Peavey poweramp, it's got a sound like a castrated JCM800, it's so weak and boring sounding.

Merry Christmas.
I got a 35 qt yeti cooler for nearly half price. Some dude won it at a Christmas raffle at work and doesn't support yeti for them cutting finding to the NRA. My wife gave him 140 for it(250$ cooler). It's brand new, 5 year warranty inside and everything wrapped in plastic. I would never normally pay so much for a yeti, but this was an ok deal. Yeti's are the best by far, just overpriced. She gave it to me early for Xmas.
That's pretty much it for me other than a dart board for the garage and a very nice Carhartt jacket from my brother.
Roasting prime rib in the oven tonight, or tomorrow... Not sure yet.

I'd LOVE to have a Yeti cooler. Those things are second to none. Made in USA and built like they give a shit, a rare thing these days. I agree, they are expensive as hell, and too expensive for me to justify buying one. I don't go camping anymore like I used to, and even if I did, I have a big footlocker sized Igloo chest I can use if I need something big.
Still not sure what the fuck I'm doing tomorrow. Either going to my sister's house or they're all coming up here. Probably going to their house though. My folks have been here at my house since Fri night... what a joy... too much joy. GO HOME.
About to go smoke a ham in my grandpas old 70's ugly orange Smoke-n-grill. So maybe it'll be done by midnight. Not joking at all. Midnight, kiddies. This thing takes forever.

I'm working in Myrtle right now, not far away from home, but my wife and kid drove here today. Luckily I got off early so the prime rib is roasting. I had my parents, in-laws, my brother and his old lady, a border collie, and a chiuaua all at my house together for three days 2 weeks ago. NO WONDER I was hospitalized
Yeti's are awesome. I'm excited to have one. I have a half gallon yeti and we have 2 32 oz cups. I filled one of the cups with ice one time and forgot about it. 7 hours later I poured the water out of the sip piece in a different cup... It was less than a half centimeter haha. Half gallon was a gift (and was 20% off) my wife's 32oz was a work gift from a boss, and my 32oz was 35% off an already reasonable price. It was 21 after tax, I've seen them for 44.99 lol. So I can't justify paying the money either but I do love their products also and have gotten lucky buying them.

My dad bought my mom a new laptop for Christmas because she was complaining that she couldn't get on Facebook or Pintrest anymore on her phone. So I've spent the better part of the afternoon and evening setting her shit up and walking her through how to use it ...and getting her back into her Facebook and pintrest using the new email account... cuz she lost her passwords to her other 2 or 3 accounts. TIME FOR A DRINK.

Not a very good Christmas this year. One of my parrots died suddenly yesterday. When I fed them Friday, I noticed him standing in the bottom of the cage with his head on the floor. I ran over and he stood up and started making odd chirpy noises that I'd never heard him make before. I picked him up and sat him on the concrete perch in his cage and he sat there while I scratched his head. I then dumped some sunflower seed in his bowl and he climbed over and started eating it while still making odd repeating chirpy sounds. I didn't think anything major was wrong. Last night I walked in to feed them again and he was laying in the bottom of the cage dead.
I've lost pets before, but I've never been this devastated by it. I've had him since he was basically a baby. He was only a little over 20 years old, and African Greys typically live 80 to 100 years. I fully expected him to outlive ME. Even dogs can have personalities almost like people, but with a highly intelligent bird that talks to you and ACTUALLY expresses himself with a whole range of recognizable emotions like a person would, it's definitely worse than losing your favorite dog. I guess what hurts the most is that those little chirps was him calling out for help, and I just ignored him and went on with my day.

Sorry to hear that, that's rough. (We lost an especially beloved pet in 2017 to cancer. Still miss him.)
