Hi-poly quake 2 weapons

Good day. I'm a developer of hi-poly quake 2 models. Main progress you can see here: http://www.moddb.com/mods/quake2-remodel

The main idea of the pack - recreate weapons of the game and save old view without any new details. So, just hi-poly version with old animations.

At this time i made all weapons and now fix bugs, add some details and other things. Also we tested some nice features, as muzzleflash at some weapons.

This mod uses md3 model format, so, if source-port supports this - you can play with them. The main friendly source-ports is berserker@quake and q2xp, also models tested with kmquake. Most impressive view you can achieve at q2xp, where Barnes added pbr materials and now we spend time to make a best setup for you.

can you make it work for multiplayer? i tried q2xp client and it says i need 3.19 or higher to play on this server i tried a few servers with no luck.

i browsed through some CTF maps they looked pretty cool with q2xp client. the movement felt a little sluggish but would be fun to play online against others with those style graphics.

Yes, of course. These models works great at new q2xp version, this version is in development and availible only for supporter. But we are planning with Barns to make it public near New Year.

yes, this is just models in md3 format. original game can use this format, but i tested at 3 source ports: q2xp, berserker@quake2 and kmquake (most "simple" without any new features, as bump-mapping). all of them support mods and mp, so, you feel free to use them at any game.

so how does one go about supporting the q2xp with multiplayer client?

the weapon models are pretty cool

most of the time im playing rail only mods so thats the main weapon i see.

i keep my own railgun hidden most of the time with center hand.

So i can appreciate all the cool weapon models they look amazing but they hold a very small interest for me as i hardly ever see them.

i am interested in the lighting / visual effects q2xp client offers while playing and wish i could experiment some with the client while playing online with other players if possible.

here is solution to run q2xp with old multiplayer: Run quake2xp as - quake2xp.exe +set net_compatibility 1
the same with mods: Run quake2xp as - quake2xp.exe +set net_compatibility 1 +set game ...

You right-click quake2.exe and select create shortcut. Then you right-click the shortcut and select properties. Then you add "+set net_compatibility 1" to the end of the target string that's already there.

maybe its just my 1gb gpu or something but little sluggish feeling even with motion and radial blur turned off its blurry!

better off motion blur and depth of field at 1gb gpu to improve the performance.

1gb video? Turn on texture compression in video menu. Next.. Radial blur so very easy for old video cards, but dof, motion blur and ssao is killer features.

man it was my resolution settings i changed it down to 1024 768 or whatever lowest one was and it ran pretty smooth!

i had it on desktop resolution which is same i use in q2pro thats where it felt sluggish.
