These are the settings for graphic part of Quake 2, they determine how bright and saturated colors are.
Note, r1gl (the renderer for r1q2) offers an alternate lighting mode with finer control.
Note, r1gl (the renderer for r1q2) offers an alternate lighting mode with finer control.....But with r1gl, I use:set gl_texture_lighting_mode 1set gl_contrast 0.8set gl_saturation 1set gl_modulate 4set intensity 1set vid_gamma 0.6set gl_coloredlightmaps 1set gl_doublelight_entities 1
Cool to see the side by side difference between my current settings and Quadz more involved and tweaked settings.
I'll probably experiment a bit more
Is there another wide spread client for Quake 2?
I'm liking it, though it works better in some maps than others.
High-contrast, high-saturation. (Also: Trying for deep shadows, but, had less success in that part.)set gl_texture_lighting_mode 1set gl_contrast 2.0set gl_saturation 1.5set gl_modulate 2set intensity 1 // this appears to be ignored in lighting_mode 1set vid_gamma 0.6set gl_coloredlightmaps 1set gl_doublelight_entities 1set gl_ext_texture_filter_anisotropic "1"set gl_ext_max_anisotropy "16"set gl_ext_multisample "1"set gl_ext_samples "8"set gl_ext_nv_multisample_filter_hint "nicest"
