Ra2 Tier Poll

i don't think it's possible to have a tier of anything below tier 4. we are all experienced quake2 players. there is nobody really considered average except for maybe naked guy, and he can get some mean frags in DM. so i took the data from the above post and added names. Note** i'm taking excerps from the whole thread as a redux. i may or may not agree with every post, and it's open to debate.

Okay so, I've seen lots of comments and even been asked by many people, how teams are going to be picked. Most worried about fairness and team stacking..

The three/four admins and refs will have discussed and divided players into 3 different groups. better players, medium skilled players, and lower tiered  players. Then a randomizor would be used to create what stands at the moment 10 teams with a high tiered, med, and low tiered players.


By doing such its going to split up the el guys, make it so 3 high tiered players aren't teamed together. That was the whole point of a draft.

Alright everyone here are the teams! Note that because there is going to be a winners bracket and a losers bracket, Some people (by a random shuffle) get byes. Everyone will still get the same amount of play time so before you whine, learn how double elim works! Winners bracket round 1 and 2 will HAVE to be completed between April 28th and May4th, this gives people the weekend to get some game time in, scrims and/or time to talk and prepare. Though if LB games are ready to be played, please get them going as fast as you can.

Suggestion(s) for future tourneys

Either: 

A --> Have a draft. 10 best players draft their teams starting from the worst captain until every captain picks their teams.

B --> Attempt to rank every player 1-30 (1 best, 30 worst) and then make teams with that scale. It would either be 1/11/30, 2/12/29, 3/13/28 etc.. or 1/20/21, 2/19/22, 3/18/23 etc..

Over @ Acme we use a draft and it works well (don't like your team? Blame the captain!) but it would be hard to co-ordinate with 10 captains.

Talgo

- Team size will be 3’s (atleast for the first go around)
- Games with be Bo3 and the final games will be Bo5
- Competive mode
- Rounds should be set to 9, armor damage on and falling damage on.
- An admin has to be present for games.
- A demo of each game is required, and are to be ready if asked to send them. (admins present should take screenshots of each match. (Reason: anticheat won't be forced on servers, due to its stopped development for new clients and operating systems.)
- Failure to provide demos upon request will result in an automatic FF.
- Map List is still to be determined, should be posted in a few days.
- Games should be played in a timely manner, and be fair for both teams.
- Server will be tx based as it is a central point for the US.
- Mumble is not required for games, but is encouraged as it is good for communication.

i just noticed on QSB there is a NY rocket arena server hosted by none other than wallfly.  it would probably be advantageous for a home/away setup, since most regular players are west here and most of the acme new signups are somewhat eastern.

And no we will stick to the central point server. Thanks tho.

I'd love to do a 2.0, but a couple of the players decided to ruin it for the rest of everyone.  Claims of us rigging the teams was the most laughable thing to me.  We redid them and I ended up with fucking ex and golgo.  If anyone knows my history between those 2, I was a pretty big dickhead towards them and we weren't exactly friends(you can ask them though, I made up with them and we did exceptionally well as a team).  But yea, we rigged the teams.  I still haven't seen anyone else take the reigns, although they felt like they needed to voice their opinion constantly how the current admins were the worst picks and we need more 'level headed' admins.  I got over my dickhead self to try to put on something fun with a couple others, but a couple people wanted to hang on to past bullshit and again ruin it for other people by causing such a headache. 

I'd compete in a heartbeat if someone else decided they wanted to take the reigns.  I'd even help out with any admin'ing etc.  We got over 35? people to sign up and play competitive ra2 in 2014.  I'd love for someone to crush that number, especially since it didn't take much to get those 35+ people in the first place.  2dum?  ani?  killo?  You guys had a lot to say during the draft so I'd love to see you guys do better
