Yeah, my folks live down near Brunswick and Savannah, they came up to stay until it passes. No more sitting in the living room butt nekkid beating off to old episodes of Hannah Montana I guess.

I grew up in hurricane alley. Floridians can claim it, x city can claim it, but we all know that my home gets hammered the most. I've been through 2 dozen named storms that be made impact in my lifetime. That being said, this one would make my top 3 EASILY if it made landfall like it is for your area. It might've even been the worst. We're lucky here, houses all on stilts with strict building codes. Those cookie cutter houses in vero, Sebastian, Melbourne, etc are in for it. Wish you the best buddy.

Good thing it stayed a little more offshore than forecasted.

Well..... Record flooding in the south outer banks. Several feet higher than in 93. It's the worst within a hundred years probably. This is where my house is at. This storm hit at the perfect angle.

I made through with almost no damage. Like Haunted said, we lucked out that it weakened a little and moved slightly to the east when it passed my area. I got my power back last night, but it was not that bad. I have a generator so I could run lights, fans, and watch College Football
I'm glad this happened in Oct instead of Aug
no A/C in Aug would have sucked big time.
A lot of trees and fences down in my area, but I am about 10 miles from the ocean, I think the coast has more substantial damage.
The neighbor across the street from my daughter's house had a 24-30" dia. Oak tree drop and damaged both of their vehicles, one of them is definitely totalled.
Haunted,
It sounds like you had to evacuate your area, I hope all is good when you get back.

Yeah all is good. It came about two feet away from my place(which is on stilts). about 550 homes were flooded in the two most southern villages on the island, so I can't say the same for everyone else. I'm already back to work doing hurricane sandy relief stuff up north. Hope you're doing well also!!

I don't worship the devil. Jesus is Lord, friend. He died for your sins. He will forgive you if you just ask.
