This was all before AC was updated. I just found out about 5 minutes ago that r1ch put a AC-compatible version of q2pro up, if it works I totally plan on using it with AC loaded. The only reason I don't currently use AC is because r1q2 used to randomly lock up on my laptop. Who knows why, but it just got too annoying. I switched to q2pro and found it to be VERY customizable and under active (somewhat) developement. No brainer.

I just saw a youtube video today at lunch that showed someone's POV playing at DigitalFrag's NL server with a wallhack and AC loaded:

There is tons of proof out there that shows AC wasn't infallible. There is this video, razer had a bunch of proof-of-concepts out there, haunted tried and was successful as connecting with a WH and AC loaded and more. That might not be the case now, who knows, we'll just have to wait to see what happens.

I know I don't cheat. The people who matter also know I don't cheat. Fuck everyone else. I don't need to constantly prove I'm legit, 99% of the players who call me a cheater are imbeciles who just can't understand how I know to throw rockets at the upper rocket launcher when they just got the shards by the lift. I MUST be cheating to know they'll come out up there.

That's why I've said what I've said in the past about AC while at the same time not using it myself.

I just tried the AC compatible q2pro build and it locks up anytime you do connect/reconnect or use the goto command with wallfly....

There are a few people who have been parroting that anticheat has been hacked since day 1. Funnily enough the ones who do this have never used it and refuse to. At least spl1nt3r uses it on some occasions. People like claire, the nothing, diable, trenbalone, juice etc. They claim it doesn't work yet don't use it. I challenge anyone who says that it's hacked to show some solid evidence that it is. And of course it's never gonna work if it's not used. Doesn't take a genious to figure it out

How to put this... anyone else could've been there to see what this person said, but you would've been one of the only ones to make a "let's EXPOSE the potential cheater" thread. Most everyone wouldn't have given a damn unless he was ACTUALLY USING SOMETHING. You already passed along your observation privately to the proper person. This thread was pretty needless. While I don't have any problems with you, I do however, have a problem with how you go about things sometimes.  I mean, the guy was typing shit.  Whoopty doo.  (next time, you should either do your little fraps thing or take a screen shot.  Logs can be easily edited, but can also be easily looked upon by master jedi quadz.  But that just takes unecessary seconds/minutes out of quadz life each time you do this.

aright, i wasn't going to bother about this because the whole thing
seems kind of unreal. but since many of you
 have bothered to express your opinion i will write the following just
 for you guys. i dont care to use anticheat but there is
a drop in performance, feels grainy. also the game freezes
between maps and when i switch servers (goto). i have ctrl+del to get out.
 i thank you all for your input on this , your comments are dead-on.
i will tell you why this happened, and why i was (looking for cheats)
so yea i looked for cheats on google and found some. i dont
remember all the details because that was years ago.
 ( recently i was talking to deapool about those hacks,
 alpha was in spectator mode listening)
i told him i found, a aimbot, bunnyhop, speedhack,wallhack.
 everybody can find them.the joke is that it worked only with q2ace..
 the idea why i wanted those hacks was to try them for myself.on my
own server.(thats the part alpha leaves out)
to see if actually some of the cheats i suspect some players
of using are real. now, since i am not a computer geek, i never got
 them to work. and couldnt find or get q2ace to work.so good old alfa
joins the conversation and asked me why i knew about q2ace. i replied
 (i was looking 4cheats) he took that part and ran to admin with it.
 it's very rare that i heard a player say i cheat in the 17years
ive been playing this game. for heaven's sake, im not even in top ten players.
 many players are also way better than me yet for alpha they go under
the radar cuz he has no real beef with them. the prob here is not
about me cheating, its about alpha getting back at me because i
reckonize is 200+ping and give him all i got. and he wont get much
 respect from me by calling everybody FAGS when he wins a map. if
im lucky and i win, he typically leaves before the map is over.
many of you are respectable players and i had tons of great games
with you all. the almighty is my witness, i never cheated. to
 me its also a place where we can release steam, speak our mind,
and act retarded. its one of the few places we have where we can
 be free. lets keep it that way. its a game, at the end of the day
 if im driving down the road and i see a q2 player with a flat
tire i'll be the first one to help.
 yes i think some players may have an unfair advantage sometimes,
 but to the point of taking it to admin? seriously...
now im stuck with this anticheat that doesnt work well with
q2pro and i would like admin (quadz) to remove it please.with those measures
 you are also forcing 2 other casual players that play from my ip to use anticheat
being my kid and my gf. its gonna be all screwed up when they turn that on.
 come check my game and see for yourself. now i have to use r1q2 and it it doesnt

ok so i told people what to they can find if they search for cheats. timeframe is irrelevant, i havent been playing so well and protesting a faulty anticheat that has been imposed on me for no good reason. now tell me and everybody here how forcing anticheat on me solves the problem? my not playing so good might be due to the fact that i had to switch to r1q2? u try it. by the way you might be a better player if you dropped anticheat. maybe thats why you too dont perform so well at times. stop waisting ppl's time. you are no where giving a good explanation. and what files show up? i checked and nothing shows up. stop making stuff up.

While he IS definitely failing a file, I took a look using "acinfo" in console the other day and it was a bfg in-hand model for the cyborg player.

I don't think you can force all player models to be a cyborg, and I know you can't make all the in-hand weapon models use that one, so if anything it's just one screwy model for a rarely used weapon and it's not being used to hide spiked models that would be very useful.
If it was the weapon.md2 or the model for the male or female player I would assume otherwise.


On the other hand, I don't like this mouthy Diable douche, and never have, and I have personally seen him go on and on about hacks and people cheating against him and how anticheat doesn't work, so I don't really care if he is forced to use anticheat. I think it's good for him, just like learning to use punctuation will be good for him one day.

It will also let him prove that he is legit, since apparently some people doubt that. It gives him a leg to stand on when defending himself, that he didn't have before, so I have trouble considering it some sort of terrible punishment or handicap.


regarding AC itself: For the most part, I have not encountered all of this degraded performance that AC supposedly gives people even after trying to recreate it in various testbeds. I tend to not believe it exists, other than the proveable and occasional crash to desktop that some people experienced with r1q2 and ac in win 7. I have literally seen it do that, but Diable is not experiencing that since he is using q2pro.

I've heard a lot of claims like "oh it doesn't run as well as blah blah" but as far as I can tell that's just bullshit and generally something to do with their "cl_async" setting making it not feel like standard q2, IF they were using r1q2. This is easily fixed.

Using the last version of q2pro before Skuller went weird and decided that he didn't want AC on his client, it worked fine. I can't say the same about the newest one because I have not tried it myself, but I doubt it works less well than a q2pro from years ago. Skuller isn't completely incompetent.

The key here is that r1q2 and q2pro CAN be used with AC and in a fairly stable manner which doesn't make you play worse: it just would occasionally drop you from a server maybe a couple times in a whole day of playing IF you used r1q2.

That's not what Diable is experiencing, so his complaints just look like "I dont want to use AC" to me, which I've heard many times, generally from people who were suspect or doing something shady and got it forced.

Oh you shouldn't have said anything for my own or anyone else's benefit. You would've been better off to go with your first thought about what to do and not bothered responding. If by "unreal" you meant "frivolous" or "stupid", I agree. As far as I can tell, the only things you're guilty of are merely talking about outdated shitty hacks and probably being a poor sport. Neither one are really worth worrying about. I guess the man paying the bills sees it different though, because now you're forced to use AC. But it's no biggie. You're still playing, you're still chatting, all's well. Throwing off umpt-eleven different excuses does more to make you look guilty of something I'm almost certain you didn't do than it does to convince anyone you're NOT guilty.

Should've just recorded demos alpha. You let this guy pull your strings. Demos viewed with no wall hack, full wall hack, and a wall hack with the vis check set to 1 can reveal a lot in contrast. If you're THOROUGHLY familiar with the geometry and shooting angles on popular maps, and how they relate to the circumstances of the visibility check then it wouldn't be too surprising how obvious it is to catch foul play.

As for this Morningstar or diable, I don't really care who he is. But I do care if he's cheating though and you could've handled this better. I know the exact hack to the OpenGL renderer w/ q2ace he's talking about. Before you make a flame thread to shame someone that's possibly cheating, I'd recommend notifying those who are far more experienced and have the composure to deal with such a situation.

That being said, diable is probably a douche. He is terrible at q2. People like him that cheat I can't even tell in game because I'm too busy destroying them like an unstoppable rebel force while day dreaming and drinking a beer simultaneously. That's why demos are important.

i tried 5-6 games with the q2pro provided by anticheat and it crashed or froze evrytime. my regular q2pro doesnt work at all with anticheat. i switched to r1q2 and its better it doesnt crash. but there's still a considerable drop in performance.with regular q2pro without ac in console i type timerefresh i get around 3200fps, with  ac it drops to 1400-1800. i havent tried r1q2 without ac, but with ac i get around 1200. for some ppl it might not be important but i have an old computer and its nice to get evrything i can out of it. these conversations are starting to bore me, would be fun to stick to the real cause of all this. every time i ask how ac will help stop the reasons why it's been imposed you divert the subject, bring up flaky evidence (discovered after) a bfg in-hand model for the cyborg player. i actually have hundreds of modified files, all my textures are black n blue marble i put a mudflap girl instead of of regular q2 ornaments and i use a q3 pak, sometimes i use an arcade pak that i made. . all my models are stock that i painted yellow using psp many years ago.none of that is considered cheating and thats why ac doesnt pick them up. customizing q2 is part of the fun. i have no idea why it says a bfg in-hand model for the cyborg player. ive been playing with these settings for years
and im a way better player when it's stock. the truth here is that alfa doesnt even think im cheating he's doing that to get back at me. having ac doesnt stop (mouthy Diable douche) and doest stop my (poor punctuation) does nothing to prevent me from using my custom textures,models or sounds. (which last time i checked were not cheats) just admit you're putting ac on me cause you dont like me and i deserve it for being mouthy and using bad punctuation. then i'll move on. you cant just wiggle away. tell the truth.

This is the other version of Q2pro that supports anticheat. The new one apparently had some connecting issues until today when R1CH mentioned that he had fixed that.

You can either re-download the one from the ac site to get a fresh copy of one that doesnt crash on reconnect, or the one in the link above (which is well tested) so you can use Q2pro with anticheat.

This way you can have your cake, and show that you are playing legit too.
