And from what I saw there, he didn't tell anyone where to get anything. Anyone heavily involved in the rotting remnants of the Q2 community already knows that Q2ace is little more than a convenient platform for cheating poorly at Q2 multiplayer. Those same people also know that they'll be detected or spotted by other players in less than one minute if they attempt it. So... I don't see the objection.

Furthermore, from the snippet of the convo you had with this person, I'm left with plenty of reason to assume that you were probably the one who led the discussion in that specific direction. That's kinda like... intentionally pissing someone off intensely, then nonchalantly telling them you're black and that you like to eat watermelon and fried chicken, and then getting all righteous and super offended when they throw off a N-bomb or two.

Kinda tired of hearing it from people who have never brought any evidence forward to support the claim, and I'm pretty sure Diable was one of them. Either that or it was splinter, I really can't tell the difference between these mouthy douches except that splinter actually plays when I'm there and Diable generally sits and runs his mouth after getting handled.

I don't know if this guy was cheating or not. It seems that alpha is capable of beating him, getting him flustered, and making him accuse alpha of cheating though. We all know this tickles alpha's fancy. Hell, it amuses me when it happens to me a bit. In this particular case it's important to note that he mentioned using q2ace to cheat and its obvious what he was doing, if he was doing it.

With the visibility check set to 1, the renderer hack to q2ace would've only showed items and weapons through walls. If I were to see demos or play against such a player I may not even notice, or bulldoze through the said player respectively without any thought of foul play.

Nevertheless, when you promote others to use an outdated hack that partially works without anticheat, you get AC forced.

I do recommend that everyone running a server uses at least a cvarban on the server end to prevent players from using any client calling itself q2ace. People can rebuild something and change version strings but in general it stops the vast majority of laymen just googling old q2 hacks and having them still work.

There is absolutely no reason that q2ace would be still in use other than to facilitate the use of the hacks, as other newer clients are better in every way.

This is also my argument for people not still being allowed to use anything calling itself nocheat, but for some reason that is still considered a more acceptable alternative client. Maybe nocheat's wider adoption back in the day has something to do with that, I dunno. It was around and hacked well before I played q2 regularly so I don't know the full history.

There are a few people who have been parroting that anticheat has been hacked since day 1. Funnily enough the ones who do this have never used it and refuse to. ... People like claire, ... . They claim it doesn't work yet don't use it.

  On behalf of claire, I might as well be the one to tell you to stick it where the sun doesn't shine. He's never said it was hacked. He might have said that it wasn't entirely effective, which would've been completely true.

Using it or not... get over it. If someone's cheating, demo them and report them like you love to do. If not, leave them the hell alone and just play.

Again, entirely possible. It hadn't been updated in ages. But folks like you would rather jump balls first into some drama and arguing over it because... I dunno know why, maybe you're just that bored. Maybe even as late as 2010 people still gave a shit about that kind of thing, but times have changed, dude. It's 2016 and this game is almost 20 years old. The shit talk and concocted drama and claims of "I'm better at this game than someone else" is so fucking tired and boring and stupid and pointless.
