Recently put together a new rig and I can't install windows on it. For some reason, it will blue screen during install and the blue screen errors always differer, they're never the same.
POOL_CORRUPTION_IN_FILE_AREA
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXECEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXECEPTION
KMODE_EXECEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL
It has me at a loss over here, I've never run into anything like it. Any help would be apprecited.

That sounds like a pain, but we'll probably need more info:
Is this occurring on an installation to a bare new HD and how is the HD installed? (SATA to the controller on the mobo, additional raid controller etc)
What media are you using (disc/usb thumbie) and which Windows? (7/8/8.1/10)
Which motherboard did you get?
To start with: You might try going into the BIOS and setting it back to defaults or optimized defaults, then start with a different HD that is totally clean and hasn't had a failed OS install on it.
Also, unplug everything non-essential from the mobo until after the OS install.
Put in the bare minimum RAM (re-seat it if you already have) and use onboard video if the chip supports it instead of immediately putting in the video card. Same goes for add-in sound cards and network adapters and the like. Don't even plug in anything USB unless its the mouse and keyboard.

:rocketright:Me thinks its a hard drive related issue. Try using another one.
Can also be a storage controller problem but no likely

I'm out for the night and will provide more info on my situation when I get home. I really do appreciate the help and expertise with this. It really is quite the pain in the dick.
It didn't even occur to me to install the OS with nothing connected.
This is the motherboard :
https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97AR/
Attempted to install Windows 10 at first, that kicked back a bunch of blue screens so I made a windows 7 USB stick due to some bad info that Windows 10 is fickle on installing on fresh machines with no previous OS. Windows 7 stick returned the same kind of errors and left a partial install on the HD. Now all I have to do is figure out how to format it.
Again, thanks for the help so much!
Will post sometime tomorrow!

If you haven't already, burn this bootable ISO image to a CD-ROM (or perhaps the USB version to a thumb drive, if your BIOS can boot that way.)

Good RAM tests take hours to run. But if it makes it through the test, then you can pretty well rule out a RAM issue given the frequency of errors you're encountering.

Update: Thanks for the suggestions. In the end, it was a bad stick of ram. Returned and replaced and I am fully in business now.

Quake II is not 27 years old. I refuse to accept THAT much time has gone by.
