The news media will not stop barking about this fight and how it needs to happen. Ive spoken to many a noob who believe ronda rousey not only stands a chance, but would beat mayweather.

I believe that mayweather has MAN strength, and not only man strength, but an olympic body fine tuned for world title fights. Mayweather is ripped, intelligent, and very dangerous. If he caught ronda with a punch, she would go down instantly. No matter what proponents think, she is a WOMAN and women have a different level of pain threshold, which is why for eons, it has been deemed unethical for a man to hit a woman.


considering this fight could very well bring in a billion $, the possibility of it happening increases...I for one, would oppose this happening, but I would watch it. I would not want to see ronda die or get severely hurt, because mayweather would not hold back...

With the disclaimer that I'm /not/ making the claim that Ronda would presumably beat Mayweather, and while I agree her stand up skills appear unremarkable, I have to disagree on the following point:

Does Mayweather have any ground fighting skills? Strength always matters, but if the fight goes to the ground, strength alone is not enough without being backed up by some level of technique. (Unless the strength/weight difference is extreme, obviously.)

Ronda is a beast on the ground, and if her opponent doesn't have strength PLUS significant technique, then it's like shark vs. swimmer territory.



The way I see it, unless you've got enough skills to flow with her and react intelligently in the moment, you won't even know what's being *done* to you before you find yourself in a submission hold where the leverage she's applying cancels your strength.

So if she could get the fight to the ground before being clocked by a massive punch--admittedly a big 'if'--then I suspect she'd stand a solid chance against a strong male opponent with low grappling skills. (Within reason, obviously.)





P.S. the rough metric that some of the Gracies use for weight and age difference between two equally skilled adult grapplers, is, every 10 years or every 20 pounds, equals one belt.

E.g. if you're a 40 year old black belt rolling with a 20 year old purple belt, then there's a rough equivalence because of the age difference. (Or, a 180 lb. black belt vs. a 220 lb. purple belt, etc.)

this fight would never happen because they're not in the same weight class (i would think) at the very least. not to mention they're both completely different sports. sure hypothetically speaking: may vs rhon could take place in a no holds barred scenario. if 2 fighters were voluntarily committed with a referee from both sports. it's possible rhonda can absorb/deflect some jabs/punches but would automatically go for the legs and put him in a leg submission hold. anything goes for her, while he can only use his arms. they are both helpless in different areas, rhonda has just more options available.

Well unlike you, I actually SAW Rousey's last fight where she beat down Bethe Correia using nothing but her goddamn fists. Ronda Rousey knows a thing or two about boxing. That's what you people apparently DON'T know. Boxing is just ONE fighting style. MMA is a combination of MANY fighting styles, INCLUDING boxing. And if you think Ronda Rousey's just some weak little spindly-armed girl who can't throw a punch hard enough to shatter someones face, you're wrong. The woman can probably bench press more than you and 2dum combined.

Yeah, see? I was looking for pics of her to post, but all I could find was old shit and shit from the time of her last fight. This is probably something taken just before her weigh-in when her body fat was low enough to really show what's actually sitting on her frame. She's gotten bigger and bigger with each fight in the UFC too. I'm pretty amazed she actually makes weight at this point. She'd easily be a womens lightweight or welterweight (145 to 170 range) (neither weight classes exist in UFC for women currently) if she wasn't dehydrating the living shit out of herself to get down to 135. To be honest, MOST of the womens bantamweight fighters would be above 135 if they didn't starve themselves, but most of them would probably be featherweights (135-145), whereas Rousey and a select few others might be lightweight or even welterweight, which is 3 whole weight classes above bantamweight. Ronda Rousey at 165? Fuck yeah, all day, look at her. The bitch can probably flip a full size pickup truck on it's roof all by herself.

after watching this fight, rousey would have gotten killed had she encountered mayweather.

rousey either let her ego get to her, or someone in her camp filled her head and let her slack. She looked absolutely noob out there, charging over and over with no strategy...

holm's straight up picked her apart, counter punching with ease, taking a page out of mr miyagi's defensive karate playbook. Ronda looked like a fool, breathing like a fat whale and running into every punch thrown at her LOL!!

perhaps she should have spent more time in the octagon preparing a strategy rather than figuring out how to slander her post-fight.....

She got cocky and sloppy. Apparently she wanted to prove to everyone that she could stand and box with her. Rousey isn't a fucking boxer, even though she's trained at it a little bit, and that much was clearly evident to me just looking at her horrible sideways karate stance from the 1st second of the fight, which coincidentally is how most of these women fighters tend to stand. If you saw the fight before it, Valerie Letourneau in particular had a great stance and foot movement,... although her head movement was pretty shitty which is why Jedrzejczyk kept popping the shit out of her all fight long, she refused to roll and move her head around. It's something MOST of the women fighters are pretty bad at, and as bad as Letourneau was at it, everyone else is multiple times WORSE about it, which makes her one of the better boxers in the strawweight division.

This is how the greatest champs in MMA always lose. They win all the time and convince themselves they're unbeatable and predestined to win. It almost happened to Jon Jones when he fought Vitor Belfort back in 2012. He had been training in nothing but muay thai and kickboxing, convinced that it would be only thing he'd need to worry about, and he neglected his jiu jitsu game. He got sloppy, and Belfort basically SHOULD have won that fight except for the fact that he was unwilling to crank hard enough on the armbar he had locked on Jones to snap his elbow. Because Belfort has a conscience. Had he said fuck it and cranked until it broke, he would've been the light heavy champ. Which would've sucked, because then we would've never gotten to see that spectacular Jones vs Gustafsson #1 fight.

Same shit with Anderson Silva. He got cocky and sloppy and he got caught. And then when he got his mind right and put his whole head in the game, he ended up snapping his leg getting an outside leg kick checked on Wideman's knee, and that was the end of that story.

Same shit with Rousey. She didn't rely on her strength to win the fight. She never once shot in low for a takedown. She insisted on standing up and proving to everyone that she was a "boxer" too, when she's not. She's a judo and jujutsu fighter. She played into her opponents game plan and voluntarily gave away her advantage. And now she's always gonna have that 1 loss on her record. Yeah, she's a dummy.

Honestly I wasn't as impressed by Holm's boxing ability as I was with her sheer physical strength in completely reversing that one judo throw Rousey had locked up. Rousey had her up high, turned her hip and was trying to throw her. And then Holm just fucking manhandled her up in the air and dropped on top of her.  WHAT!?! That shit was impressive. Probably the most impressive move of the whole fight.

I started to bet big on this fight just like I did with last Rousey fight that got me paid pretty well (even though I had to risk a LOT, which made me pretty nervous). But something about this one made me say... nah, not this time. Glad I listened to my gut. I would've had to resort to robbing banks to get right-side-up again from what I probably would've lost.

Kinda glad Rousey finally took a loss. She was getting a little too big for her britches. She's been hanging out with far too many WWE "wrestlers" and trying too hard to inject artificial drama and hype into her upcoming fights to try to sell them better. And it's pretty insulting to long time UFC fans like myself who know that it's all just an act. It's fucking annoying to watch sometimes. Because really all we care about is seeing the best fight possible and a straight up no bullshit "competition". With guys like Connor McGregor, it's a little more acceptable though. Because with him, it's not so much an act. He REALLY IS that big of a loud mouthed chest-beating asshole in real life.

ps. Another thing someone might wanna take a look at... the 1st GIF 2d posted. Right at the beginning of that clip, Holm grabs Rousey's bra strap and uses it to jerk her forwards to the ground. Kinda cheap. Fighters aren't allowed to grab garments to advance positions, and I'm pretty sure that would fall under the same rule.

Haven't read too many blogs and articles since the fight, but I can imagine she's getting absolutely shatted upon in heaping monstrous proportions. Not just because she lost, but because of the way she lost. My fucking god, it was like watching a Russian chess champ play a 6th grader.

Ronda hit her with a few shots, but nothing as stiff and jarring as what she got in return. Halfway into the 1st round, it was clear by looking at Ronda's bright glowing red face who was getting the worst of the punches.

The one time Ronda had any hope was about 2 minutes into the 1st round when she was going for a judo throw, and was unable to toss her over her hip, so instead she hooked one leg around Holms leg, and fell sideways just to get to her to the ground (whatever works, I guess, lol). At that point, she wound up upside down on the back of her neck with one leg across Holm's stomach and the other was out of place behind Holm's head while she was trying like hell to lock both her arms around Holm's left arm to try a weird upside down armbar. Not an impossible position to secure an armbar from, but difficult because as long as Holm kept her weight towards her shoulders, the ground would prevent Rousey from pulling her wrist back towards her chest for the armbar.

After that, it was all Holm. She danced around, letting Ronda chase her down like a mad dog while she countered and jabbed away at her. She played right the fuck into every last aspect of Holm's obvious gameplan. Yeah, OBVIOUS gameplan. It should have been fucking obvious from the second Ronda started her training camp for the fight what tactics Holm was gonna use. If it wasn't obvious to HER what she should've expected to encounter, it damn well should've been obvious to whoever was coaching her through training camp. I'm dumbfounded and in utter awe at how seemingly unprepared she was for that fight. It's as if her trainer told her, "Yeah, you ain't got shit to worry about, she's a champion caliber boxer, but fuck it, RICKY BOBBY IS NOT A THINKER, RICKY BOBBY IS A DRIVER! SHAKE AND BAKE, MOTHERFUCKER! GO WIN!" For fucks sake, did anyone see the previous 2 fights Holly Holm had in the UFC? Her debut was against Raquel Pennington, and it was a fucking SPLIT decision win, and most people watching it thought she didn't even win. I know I didn't. Blows my fucking mind that some little short fireplug chick like Rocky Pennington could last 3 rounds against her whilst a fucking she-hulk judo submission artist like Rousey got handled like a cheetah mauling a 1-legged gazelle.

I always liked Ronda Rousey. But her attitude for this last fight was WAAAY the fuck too out of whack. You could tell at the weigh-in, she was fucking scared. She was continuing to talk smack, trying to get mean and angry about it, but it just shifted to her almost busting out into tears the longer she went out about it. And she's gotten worse and worse about the shit talk with each fight, obviously trying to hype the drama and sell more PPV's. But I honestly don't think that bullshit sells more subscriptions.

Bottom line, she got fucking SPANKED... HARD. She got humiliated for almost every second of that 2 round fight. Hopefully she'll learn some fucking lessons from it. Like how she needs to take training fucking serious if she wants that belt back. She always says she works way harder than anyone else in the division. I call bullshit. If she did, that fight would not have been NEARLY as lopsided. The only way that fight could've POSSIBLY been any worse for Rousey would've been if she slipped on a puddle of water coming out of her corner at the 1st rd bell, smacked face-first into the canvas, and knocked her own self out.

First thing she needs to do... is FIRE whoever the fuck was coaching her during that training camp. Because they fucking FAILED. Then she needs to hire someone truly reputable to coach her in nothing but boxing. And she needs to start training at it like... fucking yesterday! It's blindingly obvious she needs lots of work at it to become competent. Then she should consider apologizing to all her fans for acting like a such a poor sport twat before the fight.

Glad she lost, honestly. She was starting to get fucking annoying with that pre-fight petty bullshit. Maybe this'll un-swell her huge fucking head a little.
