I Am Trying to Download And Play Quake II Again but I Am Not Sure If Me Having Windows 7 Is the problem I Found One Forum Post about Steam Version having A Patch For it if I Remember Correctly.

Using Win8-64 on r1q2.

Only issue my wife's Vista/7 machine had was the OGL drivers were almost non-existent so it couldn't initialize OGL until I installed up to date drivers from Intel.

extract that to your quake2/baseq2 folder.

should fix your issue

it's some kind of color pallet that comes with the game if you installed a full version from cd. dunno about steam copies.

This Worked But Now it is Saying R1Q2 Crashed and I Made it do a crash report and says it is probably the fault of the Ref Soft Renderer Or Some it says Quake II Renderer Has Always had Issues and to Use OpenGL To Avoid Future Problems. Hm did I Download a Bad Quake II Torrent or some?

its prolly that ur using software mode with a very high resolution setting. Use openGL first. try 640 then slowly go up. Also try testing software mode with low setting.

There are installers for both Q2PRO and R1Q2, depending on which client you prefer.

I just Tried Using this to Install It and No Difference what is it Exactly I Am doing Wrong.
