So I figured I would take the initiative and create the thread that deals with the current Mega virus Ebola. From everything I have read and seen on television, this is really not a joke and the virus is continuing to spread as I write.

As of 10/15/14, an asian nurse was diagnosed and is currently recovering, though a second nurse has just contracted the virus:

Whats truly frightening about this disease is that there is no cure, and if you catch it, you will die 50-70% of the time... As the new season of the walking dead springs back to cable television, i cannot help but look at this virus in the same light as the zombie apocalypse.

I don't believe Ebola is uncurable. Unlike AIDS/HIV, initial trials of experimental vaccines showed promising signs. Its just EBOLA has been on existence for the longest time and giant pharmaceutical companies haven't tried to create drugs to combat it coz its confined to the poor nations in Africa where they (the med companies) do need see any profit or return of investment.

Even if you ban ALL flights from Africa, still other people who might be contaminated with the disease would still be able reach the US easy through stop-overs. Besides there are people like Thomas Duncan who do stupid shit and lied about his whereabouts, underestimate the threats.

"global" in the barest and most technical definition of the term. one death in texas, a couple deaths in europe, all of those patients were evacuated from africa and are in full MODERN medical care. the only reason that africa is getting hit so hard is because they're all third-world countries and have no idea what to do. plus, they don't have the appropriate resources to deal with something like ebola, which is something that we, as people of the modern world, have full access to in situations like these. i mean for fuck sakes, these dumb niggrs still think that the fucking volcano god or something is mad at them and is punishing them with ebola.

In a way, you got it right. I remembered a story before bout students (in Africa) protesting and driving away med workers coz they believe Ebola is all fake. Like in Pakistan where the Islamist attack Polio immunization workers.

Sigh. Seriously. Ebola ain't shit. It might be shit to be worried about bumfuckston Africa, but it ain't shit to realistically worry about in the United States. You watch far too many movies.

If you had any inkling of an idea about what kinds of truly evil shit the CDC has ON HAND, you'd shit your pants at the thought of what would occur if one of their laboratories were ever compromised by something like a terrorist bombing or even a simple breaking of everyday protocol. And yeah, the CDC has a lab in California too. Used to know a guy who worked at the main labs in Atlanta. He used to talk about some of the stuff they had. Shit so potent and so deadly that if you were to take it outside, open the dish, and drop one single drop of water into it with an eyedropper, the mist from it that would become airborne would be more than enough to kill every warm blooded living creature within a 1 mile radius in a week. So just imagine what would've happened if those assholes would've decided to crash a few planes into some CDC labs around the country rather than the World Trade Center. They would've killed WAY more people basically by way of a biological weapon... that they didn't even have to supply themselves... AND it would've caused a very lengthy evacuation of major city centers where lots of other businesses are, and that would've brought the nationwide economy to it's knees a lot more effectively than taking out one measly building like the World Trade Center.

See? This is why these plane hijacking camel fucking terrorists are dimwitted dumb fucks. Why go through all the trouble to put a bomb on a plane when you can much more easily put a plane on a biological bomb?
