BTW, it's currently Daylight Savings... which I hate. If you write "EDT" during the summer, everyone tries to do a conversion. Plays hell on scheduling rpgs.

Hello all. Been silent on these forums for years.. but, play the dm server often

Questions, as I've never participated in any of these events:

- Do I just show up and if there's room on the server, join in?
- If the event starts at 6pm Eastern time, and I happen to show up at 7pm, can I still join, tho I know my chances of winning have been diminished from the hour everyone else has racked up frags.

- My 15 yr old son may want to participate... so would there be any issues if the 2 of us from the same IP join?

Yes, joining late is OK.

Shouldn't be a problem. Might want to test it out beforehand on the TS500 server just to make sure no auto-kick occurs. But I'd expect it to be fine.

Joining beforehand is also good to make sure you have the city64.bsp map.

Only bad part about you & your son on at the same time is that if he spams commands to the server (like FOV commands I use for zooming) then your ip will be banned and you'll both get kicked.

True story.

But it's a heck of a lot of fun. Unless you're on a slowwwwww connection you both should be fine. My wife, son and I have played on my server & TS servers before at the same time and, on average, it's a 1.5Mbps DSL (peaks to ~4). Q2 uses little resources.

Previous have been somewhere in the range of 90 to 120 minutes, if I recall correctly.
