High ping on all tasty-spleen?

Hi,
I'm not sure what has changed recently, but I've received a few reports about users having high ping on tasty-spleen servers:

I haven't been able to play WODX under 200 ping for a month now. Angry

I live in So CAl and used to get a ping of around 40.  All Tastyspleen servers are now over 200 for me except Gumby's and Mootown.
That sucks.

I guess I just gotta play DAYZ 24/7 now. Cry

Not sure what this could be attributed to (dropped packets across faulty routers on his end?) or even how wide spread it is, but it appears to be recent. I suggested he do a ping / tracert, netgraph 1 (in q2), and try starting over with fresh q2 directories, in case his configs hold invalid variables (cl_maxfps 0 or rate 0). I hope something can be done or suggested to try out at least. Capt. Whoopass has been with us for many years. He's a great player and frequents most of TS servers, so we'd hate to lose him

Not sure what alias he uses these days? WallFly hasn't seen a "Capt. Whoopass" for 1869 days. (I was going to try a reverse trace from the server to whatever his latest IP is.)

Porkchop is Capt. whoopass.  I brought this matter up about a week ago here.  I did the trace route  and posted it to the help section of Tastyspleen.  I called my ISP and complained they told me the could not really do much about it.  So... Until the bottle neck gets cleared where ever the hell it is I will just have to live with it. 

It is funny that a guy that plays on the WODX server I  used to play on still gets 40 ping and he only lives about 20 miles from me.

I saw something in the news on Yahoo the other day about some unnamed guy from Level 3 claiming he had evidence that several of the major ISP's were guilty of intentionally throttling customers bandwidths and trying to basically extort Level 3 in order to grant customers access to maximum bandwidth and speed capacities. I dunno exactly how that works. But I know my traceroutes lately indicate that I'm getting lag once I hit Level 3 servers, so maybe it's actually Level 3 thats trying to extort fees from the major ISP's, who the hell knows.

perfectly legal, though poor business practice

winmtr should find the slow connection very quickly.... and if you want you can always look up who owns the two routers on either side of the connection and call them up and tell them they should die a horrible horrible death etc etc. Though if you aren't a paying custom of theirs they likely won't care and will not assist you in any way

i disconnected my router and modem because it over-heated. since then i reconnected and it functions normally. i was getting high pings on most tasty servers, but don't even know if that was the real cause. i pinged 30 on a couple east servers so it don't make much sense for me. maybe it has something to do with the net neutrality issue. the companies might be playing with the bandwith. i don't know what level 3 is though..
