In a limousine on the way to the airport Moon insisted they return to their hotel, saying "I forgot something". At the hotel he ran back to his room, grabbed the television and threw it out the window into the swimming pool below. He then jumped back into the limo, saying "I nearly forgot".

I guess the younger generation has kinda forgotten how Keith Moon probably started the tradition of rock stars completely trashing their hotel rooms. I figured enough people around here knew enough about Keith Moon to see the swimming pool in the background and know what I was talking about.

Although, if you read a little further down on Keith Moon's wiki page, you'll see that this also would have been an acceptable answer...



Keith Moon wasn't crazy in the way that he'd fucking murder you at the drop of a hat, but he was crazy enough to set half your house on fire just for a laugh. Probably a fun guy to hang out with as long as you did it at SOMEONE ELSES house so he wouldn't fuck your shit up. And definitely one HELL of a drummer. You couldn't really tell that though until the 70's came around when he started adding shitloads of fills and rolls to absolutely everything. Personally I think the drum kits he used and how they were tuned and mic'd kinda hid it too. Later in his career he started using some pretty expansive kits with lots of different toms, but they were all tuned so similarly and poorly in my opinion that you couldn't really hear the difference between them. And when he's moving all over the kit at the speeds he always did, it makes it even more difficult to hear the differences in each drum. If you have no idea who he was, try hunting down some videos of him playing on youtube. He was like a fucking madman on the drums. Just looked like a flurry of flailing arms and sticks. I'm guessing Keith Moon is precisely where Jim Henson got the inspiration for his Animal muppet.
