game window minimizing

For the past couple of days, my game screen for no apparent reason has minimized in the middle of play. I dunno if an admin is stuffing commands on me or scanning me for something or what. I'll play for several hours a day at different times of the day, and it isn't a "rampant" problem, because it usually only happens one time per day, which makes me think it could just be some admin command doing funny shit to my client. If not, then I have no idea what could be the cause of it. I'm thinking... maybe my AV is popping up with something to cause it, but when it minimizes, nothing for the AV is popped up on the screen, so I doubt it's that.

Is there anything that anyone can think of off hand that might cause this behavior? Or is there any way to tell from what the client console or some kinda log says to identify the cause?

This would usually just be a different application in windows deciding to take precedence over your quake window

I see this happen from time to time on boot up if I have something that took a few minutes to load, and I am already in quake by the time it decides to start

can also be scheduled, or an event in an already running application

if you really wanted, you could just check processes when it happens and see what is running that could potentially cause the issues you are seeing and then use process of elimination... if you have programs in the tray that like to do that sort of thing, I would check their settings

also worth it to see if you can note the time, or if something special happens every time the window loses focus to see if it is a scheduled or triggered event

The closest I think an admin command could get would be "vid_fullscreen 0 ; vid_restart" or such. But yeah, I still wouldn't expect the window to minimize.

In any case I'd estimate the chances any admin shenanigans are involved are essentially nil. However I can search the server logs for anything unusual.

Several ppl complained about same thing lately, but they installed recently new wifi card with own connection manager like TP-Link etc. (every time when manager 'check' connection full window game got minimized)
Using windows connection manager helped.

yep. mine uses a tray wireless manager ( forgot whats the name ).

Quake 2 can minimize?  Mine has never had that ability.  How does it minimize?
