if i lived in europe or wherever and had some crazy high ping everyone might "Seem" like a bot hehe but thats a poor excuse

If you and these others are making the argument that everyone should stop using it, then you and these others are severely retarded.

Not at all what I said, brotha'! As I said previously, some players have trouble getting it to work with modern Q2 clients and OS' (e.g. Win8), so they opt not to use it. My whole point is that just because a player doesn't use anticheat, does not mean he is trying to hide something - more than likely, it's because he just can't get it to work! Now that doesn't mean I wish it were so - it would be nice if someone took over that whole aspect of ze game and kept it updated.

I like how "SOME players can't make it work with windows 8 or MODERN CLIENTS" became "the vast majority aren't using it because they CAN'T" in like 3 sentences.


Anything newer than 3.20 is a modern client. (a fairly vague term, but lets go with it)

4 of the most common 'modern clients' support anticheat in some form, and 2 out of 3 of the most common windows operating systems currently in use by the masses support it's use. Windows XP* still has about 30% of the market share. Windows 8 is such a flop that they're already looking to replace it with another iteration and it hasn't yet outpaced Windows 7*.

What you really mean by modern clients not supporting anticheat is apparently that 1 of 4 clients that used to support it doesn't now, because it's currently still updated past the point where it was last approved by the ac developer when the other 3 are not updated often, even tho there wasn't much wrong with them after many many years of developement each.

When you talk about modern OSs you're actually referring to the shittiest windows operating system in years that still doesn't have a decent share of the PC market even when the biggest OS developer tries to foist it on new computer buyers and end support for their previous products to drive it's use because it's utility sure doesn't.

This is quake 2, a game that came out for the PC in 1998, and which so many people still play on ancient rigs that any statement about the majority or containing "more than likely" should probably take reality into account.
