for the record, I've tried downloading and using anti-cheat, but for whatever reason I can't get it to work right with Q2Pro.  It says it's installed, but when I connect to the server it still says I'm not using it.  Perhaps I'm doing something wrong?  In any event, I stopped trying to get it working.   


Is anti-cheat purely a r1Q2 thing?  I'm not a fan of r1Q2.  On my old machine, I actually get less framerates with r1Q2.  Things work better and Q2Pro does seem smoother to me. 


Alpha, I see that you use Q2Pro - does anti-cheat work for you?  If so, would you mind sending me details on what needs to be done to get it updated and working properly with Q2Pro?  I'd have no problems using it if it was quicker and easier to set up properly in Q2Pro.

good; imo apr is better than both q2pro and r1q2.

it has its own driver, so all you need is the .exe to make it run properly. if something isnt right, then check out my autoexec and go from there, because i never have any problems with it.

I could be wrong, but I didn't see anything blatant in either one of those first 2 demos. It just looks like your average typical railz player to me. A few lucky shots, a few not so lucky deliberately aimed shots. Same shit I see any number of other railz players doing, including Alpha.

Not a bad idea to use Anticheat anyway, especially if you have the ability to do so. Then again, I don't think you should feel "forced" to do it either just because one person accuses you of something in error. If you aren't cheating and simply don't WANT to fuck with it, then that's everyone else's problem and they'll just have to get over it.

Thanks, Focalor.  I agree.  I'm not a fan of change after I got it all good with Q2Pro, but sounds like getting "anti-cheat" to work would be the only way to silence these accusations.

You sound like your reading comprehension abilities are incredibly sub par.

I never said anything was conclusive nor did I call you a bot or say a thing about my mind being made up. I actually tried to provide you with assistance in the form of explaining how you might combat the aforementioned accusations that you call a "witch hunt" when they are not something to be bothered about, if you are legit.

I mentioned what I saw, which was repeated odd little movements in your aim which don't look natural and which serve no purpose in the process of actually aiming the railgun. Maybe you're just bad, and occasionally you get lucky? who knows?

You can be confident and very happy and whatever the fuck else you want to be, but in the future, try to pull your head out of your ass and realize when someone is explaining things to you for your benefit.


PS: The "q2pro doesn't work with anticheat" excuse is a no-go.

This is stepping out on a far branch for a second post but..He is right. There are some raging trolls here who I do totally understand are regular posters in your community. But caring less or not doesn't change the fact that they are just well..raging trolls. I have been an active player for over a decade on TS. I know A LOT of you and you just don't know me because I have killed too many brain cells to come close to remembering my old player names. Before you go off on your fit of rage you should just think about what you're typing. This isn't helping- It's feeding the beast and I know that.

But the tired old "no one cares" or just ya know, trying to generalize your feelings of rage- That really doesn't work nowadays IMHO.
And I don't think I have any particular amnesty- Quite the opposite. But there are ways to instantiate some measures of security here. I manage a gang of web, file, and vpn serv-er(s)-ices and I can tell you really DO need some more admins watching out for you guys.

Honestly can't say I mind the back talk, it makes me feel like I'm back in high school again skipping school to chase the great quakers, But you're sidestepping discussion and good dialogue in favor of trying to impose your moralities on people. I'm still staring at what the one dude said, not worth repeating, but he's basically insinuating that if you are accused of cheating and demo'd you're guilty until proven innocent. Face palm. I found a good quote from the Jedi recently- You should care to hear it, "Apologizing doesn't always mean you're wrong and the other person is right.
