Just curious, being a southern redneck, are they tasty? I would never shoot something out of season or something I didn't plan to eat. Respect for the wildlife.....

Also, can they be threatening or a menace? Do they cause trouble on the homestead?

I have never eaten one so don't know what they taste like. They are very unpredictable animals. If you happen to have a vege patch they may help themselves. Normally wild ones like these ones take off before you even get 20 meters away. I got so close to these ones i could have reached out and touched them. As for their unpredictable nature, this video says it all

I watched a special a while back about how during peak breeding season, people go out with shotguns, sledgehammers, and whatever else they can get their hands on, and try to kill as many of these creatures as possible.  This is done because there's just so damn many of them around now.  Unfortunately, humans are the cause of this problem.  Due to Australia's booming population moving into the kangaroo's habitat, they are staying in the urban areas now, and they destroy crops, go through trash, and rummage through anything else they think is edible.  It's kinda a cruel fate for them that we cause the problem, then turn around and kill them en masse because of the problem we created.

Better them than us, though.  Merry Christmas btw.
