Reeeeeeeeally!?! No way!!! Didn't see THAT coming!

Idea. Who wants to play dead pool? Never heard of a dead pool before? It's a pretty fucked up game. It's where you make a list of names of famous or semi-famous people who you expect to die within a certain period of time. Usually people bet money on these things, but I guess we could just play for points. We'll run this one up until midnight on December 31st.

Here's the rules... and I'm making them up off the top of my head, and it ain't ALWAYS the way a dead pool works, but it should work good for this type of game.

• You pick 10 total names of famous or semi-famous people. (No one who is currently in the hospital with some terminal disease or anything like that, cuz that's basically fuckin' cheating, you prick.)
• Post them in a list of TEN names with numbers 1 through 10 by their names, 1 being the one you think has the best chance of the 10 to die before the ending date of the game. (See the next rule for WHY you should list them in this specific order.)
• If your #1 pick dies, you get 50 points. If your #2 pick dies, you get 45 points. If your #3 pick dies, you get 40 points. If your #4 pick dies, you get 35 points. If your #5 pick dies, you get 30 points. If your #6 pick dies, you get 25 points. If your #7 pick dies, you get 20 points. If your #8 pick dies, you get 15 points. If your #9 pick dies, you get 10 points. If your #10 pick dies, you get 5 points.
• Different players are allowed to have the same names on their list, but no two players are allowed to have more than 6 matching names on their lists.
• Once you have posted your death list, you are NOT allowed to edit it or rearrange the ordering of it after 48 hours of the initial posting of the list. If your post reads that it has been edited after that deadline, you will be disqualified.
• IF someone from your list ACTUALLY DIES, the pool of players will vote on whether or not to award an additional 5 bonus points for picking someone who was unlikely to die but did anyway. For example,... if you pick Justin Bieber and that little bastard actually dies in some horrible fiery car crash... well I think we can all agree, that's definitely worthy of a bonus, am I right?
• The player with most accumulated points at 12:01am January 1st, 2014, wins the game. No money or prizes will be awarded for this, it's just for fun.

BE AWARE... These rules might be appended later if there's anything I forgot to cover.

Get to it! There's a slew of aging Hollywood celebs and washed-up sitcom has-been's with crack habits out there just waiting to turn into worm food. There's no excuse for not being able to pick at least 5 of them to croak. And don't feel guilty if they DO die. It's not like YOU killed them. And if you did, they probably had it coming anyway.

I'm gonna wait a bit to post my own list. Wanna think about this a little first.

*** Appending rule #6 ***
These are the specific circumstances for which bonus points will be awarded:

• Quantitative Death Award - 25 bonus points - Awarded to the player with the highest total body count.
• First Blood Award - 15 bonus points - Awarded to the first player who picks the first listed name to die.
• The Final Death Blow Award - 10 bonus points - Awarded to the player who has the last listed name to die before the game ends.
• Kill 'Em Early Award - 10 bonus points - Awarded to the player who picks the youngest listed name to die.

It's kind of sick and twisted to think of this game this way, but exercising your sick fuck side is really what this game is all about. Anyway, here's some helpful hints that might give you some ideas when creating your death list.

*Pick someone you know has an alcohol or drug problem. Examples: Randy Travis, Lindsay Lohan, etc.

*Like the previous hint, it also helps to pick someone who is a washed-up wasted talent. They have more of a reason to be deeply depressed which might lead them to abuse drugs and alcohol more heavily or commit suicide. Example: Charlie Sheen, Jake the Snake Roberts, etc.

*Pick someone who has a dangerous job. Examples: Steve Irwin (The Crocodile Hunter, always handled dangerous animals, was killed by a stingray), Dale Earnhardt (racecar driver, died in a 200mph crash), etc.

*Pick someone who is grossly overweight, someone who is likely due for a heart attack... a train wreck in waiting. Example: James Gandolfini (he's dead already, but notice how he only got fatter and fatter and fatter since the Sopranos, so you get the point.)

*Pick someone VERY old. The older the better. Really old people have a habit of doing two things, smelling of moth balls, and dying. Shoot for people in their 80's or 90's, because no one will likely make it to the century mark. Examples: Zsa Zsa Gabor is 95, Kirk Douglas is 96, good candidates for the angel of death.

ALSO....

It is YOUR responsibility to keep up with your list and who dies. I can't be sitting here every single day for the rest of the year going through everyones lists and making sure everyone on them is still alive. If someone on your list dies, it's largely YOUR responsibility to tell us.

Technically, Nelson Mandela does fit the bill for someone "currently in the hospital or terminally ill", but fuck it, he's alive enough for me. For a while, they were saying he was in very bad shape and it sounded like he could die at any moment. I'm not sure if he's still in the hospital though. I picked country singer Randy Travis and he was in the hospital recently. I forget exactly what his problem was, but I'm pretty sure it had something to do with his drinking. The past several years he's been drinking heavier than Nicolas Cage in Leaving Las Vegas. He's got a date with the grim reaper and... to quote one of his song titles... It's Just A Matter Of Time.

I wouldn't call his list very original though. Pretty sure he googled for death pool odds. Not that it's cheating. If anyone wants to do that, go for it. Honestly, I looked a couple of places for odds when making my list. I went with a few originals. I was watching Scarface the other day and remembered that E.G. Daily sang a few of the songs on the movie soundtrack. I doubt she'll die before 2014, she has no addiction or health problems that I'm aware of, but who knows, maybe she'll get some bad sushi that'll poison her squeaky little ass and give me 25 points.

Dunno how smart it was to include this Carmelo Flores Laura dude. His age has not been verified legally. He could easily be completely full of shit and only be in his 70's. He really wasn't famous until this month when he made widespread news. But since he's got his own wiki page where we can all easily verify his date of death if it happens, I guess it's kosher.

***ADDITIONAL RULES:

As a general rule, I think any person anyone might pick should at least be famous enough to have their own wiki page where we can verify their date and cause of death. Wikipedia is usually amazingly quick to post such info.

One more thing: I saw a couple of other messageboards that had their own dead pools were allowing people to pick people who were incarcerated and on death row, but they had to die by a means other than state carried-out execution to gain any credit for it. For example, if they are on death row and they die by lethal injection... well they have scheduled executions, so that would be CHEATING, and you get no credit. BUT... if they get stabbed to death or die of other health complications while awaiting their scheduled execution, that's perfectly allowable and you get full credit for it.

When someone who never wins at anything gets the lead in something, they will be hard to be around.

Even thou they may ultimately fail, it will difficult to hear their constant bragging about being in the lead.

Lennon was the coolest and most talented out of the 4. George Harrison was the next coolest. Ringo's the coolest one still alive. And Paul's a fucking lizard-man with a permanent look of shock/surprise on his face due to the cosmetic surgery and botox he's done to his liver spotted forehead. Christ, if he gets his forehead stretched back any further, his eyebrows are gonna be on the crown of his scalp.

I have to start this list off right!

1.)  Lindsay Lohan.  27 years old.  Hope this dope whore bites the bullet.  She probably will from the looks of her lately.  Her eyes look like the soul is dead inside...usually isn't too long after until the body goes with it.  I know she's the almost youngest person on my list, but she IS the most likely to wind up dead this year.

2.)  Erich Priebke.  100 years old, oldest known Nazi in captivity.  His health is reported to be "failing", but he has not been diagnosed with any terminal illness that I know of, so I think this one passes the rules.

3.)  Henry Kissinger.  90 years old.  He's an old Jewish fuck, so he's bound to kick the bucket soon.

4.)  Kirk Douglas.  96 years old, father of Michael Douglas.  Hopefully should be a good bet.

5.)  Betty White.  91 years old.  I actually love Betty White, mainly because she's recreated the image of "Grandmas" being all sweet and nice.  She's the straight up bitch version, which is awesome; totally goes against what society thinks old women should act like.    Sadly though, she is old so I have to think she'll die someday soon.  Although from the looks of how healthy she is, she might pull another 20 years.

6.)  Michael Douglas.  68 years old.  Many times previous cancer patients have a resurgence of the disease, many times in another form, not too long after the first bout.  Here's hopin on you, kid.

7.)  Artie Lange.  45 years old.  If you know this man and his history, you understand why he's on the list.    He is sober now and doing good for himself now, but he's done a lot of damage.

8.)  Marilyn Manson.  44 years old.  Same reasoning as Artie, really.  I love the guy, he's the hero of my generation, but goddamn he's done (and still does) a shitload of drugs.  rofl

9.)  Keith Richards.  69 years old.  I have to do this one, even though already mentioned.  He's gotta die soon; I've heard that he still uses heroin occasionally and other drugs to this day (industry rumors).  ;p

10.)  Miley Cyrus.  20 years old.  Ok, it's just because I hate her and her dad, but man I hope she chokes on it and dies.  As a plus, I just read that she only sleeps 45 minutes a day and just gives her body the bare minimum to keep going.  She might be a good candidate for this after all.  :>


NOTE:  I just realized I should've read the first three posts better, or #2 & #3 at all.  I used two of the examples, and I thought I was being original; I thought "Wow, no one picked Linsday Lohan yet?  She's on there!"...and "Michael Douglas isn't on there, and his father is dust, they're both good candidates"...I know Keith Richards is OK in the mix though, as it wasn't an example, but was simply already used.    Let me know if this is an issue with using examples and I'll find two replacements (will really suck since I was dying to have Lindsay at #1).
