 This has the potential to be shitty with vae using terms like "we" will let you play. As if he is something special. If I remember correctly he raged out of Nadl after getting beat by Hunter? This has potential if ran by Barton/ Haunted . Once Vae gets involved it will likely turn to shit.

as for vae, kid belongs in the novice bracket.. IF he manages to both win and complete his very first tourney despite how small this is, then he should get an invite to the regular one.

but, it's barton's thing like I said. Objectively he could make a far better case for himself getting an invite, making it out of group stages in the last NADL, than vae. Vae couldn't do this, threw a mad fit, then quit despite numerous attempts to get him to finish it out. I mean the guy even asked me several times to replay ztn2dm3 where hunter beat him just because "his mom was vacuuming", when I told him that wasn't allowable by the rules he threw another hissy fit over the league admins and how i'm stupid for not granting his request. Just my .02, if it were my thing I'd still allow him entry too though, like i've done for him every time so it doesn't look like I was disallowing him participation from something personal between him and I.

on that note, someone hit up hunter. I'm waiting to hear back from kickr0. dahang prob. won't be playing q2 until after quakecon.

Hello Flapjack. No, I did not ban any Europeans from competing from this. I just never really thought if anyone of them would be willing to play with the high ping and at such a strange hour of time (8PM~9PM EST). Also, naturally I approached NA players since it is my scene and I know a lot of the players on my invite roster. If you want to play there is no worry. I still plan on having a third tourney, which would be open to any player, since I feel bad for the players I asked to play and they won't be able to play in this invite cup. Also of course, I want to get in on the action, so this open cup will probably be shortly after this novice cup. Flapjack, you are too strong for this "rookie" cup and you are not even a rookie, which is also the other problem for myself and the other players initially accepted to play in this div1 cup. So for now, I will just focus on these two cups. We will get our chance later. :>

As for Vae, I figured that he would want to play in an event like this, since he likes competition. Since such an event like this is very rare, I don't want to leave him out on this opportunity. If Vae doesn't want to play in this, I can easily offer his spot to someone else, so the choice is his. Also, I doubt he will give me or another admin in this cup a headache like he gave you haunted with NADL in his match vs hunter. Time is a more valuable resource in this event than NADL, so I will not hesitate to forfeit or kick out a player from this cup if they waste my time or give me too much trouble.

never completing any competitive event/losing or refusing every serious set he has attempted or been challenged to against someone of similar or greater skill/not having any regard for tournament rules and unwilling to abide by map picking for sets/etc......

is not someone who enjoys competition, and it's also someone that has actual objective data showing why several others should be allowed over him(You and hunter both fall into that category). It's someone who can't handle losing, not to mention there's naymlis, kickr0, c12, and others to consider here.

It's like I said: I'd allow him too even though I have regretted every bit of slack I've ever cut vae. He enjoys name dropping and attempting to feel included more than he does "competing".

I see what you are saying haunted, but I feel that such behaviors will be a non-issue. Like the case with the last drama seen in NADL, if someone disconnects on purpose because they rage quit, they will get a map forfeit automatically unless their opponent chooses to continue to play the match. If the rage quitter doesn't like this result and refuse to play further, then they will get booted from the cup. It is as simple as that. You either play your matches completely and follow the rules, or you're gone. I'm not going to spend 30 minutes explaining the rules to anyone. I won't even have time to do that anyway.

While I see the logic in this, due to Vae being a shithead and raging out of tourneys before, the issue is that he would cause a shutout in the novice league.  1v1 he is quite a bit above everyone listed in the novice bracket, so it would make it entirely not fun and defeat the purpose of having this event.

What a better idea would be is to just ban him from the cup period.  Or put him in a league by himself or something.
