In an effort to spark interest for koth, king of the hill, I was thinking about hosting a similar event for thursday this week in a few days. This is not affiliated through tastycast as of now, but I'll be linking Jehar this thread in hope of him adopting the idea. I am contemplating the idea of casting it and/or co-casting it with Jehar. Post your thoughts.

I deleted your post vae, not from any personal notion of mine, but because it's counter-productive to the idea of this thread. I've actually casted events for other games, including q2, and when I am at these said events people encourage and practically beg me to get on the mic because they feel I do have a personality for it. Jehar has asked me himself to cast with him multiple times. Please keep your e-beef from me calling you out on your nonsense/me being better at this game out of this, or even how I treat you individually as if it applies to the rest of the community, out of this thread.. thank you.

Yes bring it back. Also it needs to be balanced with ladders or something so the newbie actually wins a koth and doesn't get crushed by some who is way beyond their level.

e.g. Koth div2: tehsandwich, venova, peewee, Koth div1: fader, random, adren, etc.

Anyway, it's like I said. I'm trying to get Jehar to adopt the idea again. He currently feels the idea isn't popular enough to host it weekly, so I am contemplating a possible avenue to change this.

I know that adren/sluigs are around now in general, I just finished up with final exams, and fader is usually down to participate anyway so that alone would present some watchable last few matches. I'm sure several other people would be down to participate as well, being that it's seeded..

KOTH is a duel event in which the players are seeded in the other of increasing skill level, the upcoming opponent always having the map pick. It's aim is to cater to all players and give them at least 1 or 2 matches that are closer to their skill level, so fun for all. Everyone wants to see some good watchable matches between the better usa players(and any euros that happen to show up) on the live stream, though.

Barton: That's not a bad idea, and it would be super easy.. just draw the line somewhere and that's where div 2 ends/div1 starts.

My interest is in no way low for the event at all; the issue prior to now has simply been available bandwidth for a stream that doesn't make me lose even more hair. Now, I'm in an area with plenty of Fios, so I'm well-hard for that. I'm just going to need to set up a stream on my mobile solution, since I just moved into the area and don't have everything set up yet. This Friday has potential for getting something going, even if it isn't formal.

I was debating thursday against friday, can also aim for for the following week instead while working stuff out. Honestly it's whatever works for you though. Thanks for the reply, I'll see how well I can stream... 1.9mbps ul rate that never falters, might be doable.

edit: I'd have to see how it works if/when I'd be playing in the said event, too... someone else streaming would be a better option.

Totally - streaming + playing can be a real chore unless you have a totally segregated setup. If you'd ever like to pow-wow on you streaming more though, I'd be happy to provide any needed consultation.

Re scheduling, I'm playing it by ear too. Second day in the office here, so my head is pretty crowded.

whats needed to setup a stream? i have a pretty solid up/dn in my studio, but its a mac, would that work ?

I like Thursday simply because Friday is usually a club night for most. That and unlike 2dum's ra2 nights, this event won't start at a bedtime hour, also why Thursday seems more friendly.

If this gets rolling again, what does everyone think of doing a 2v2 night..say once a month or so?
