I was wondering if it was possible to remove the fraglimit on ffa or atleast raise it from 30. I remember BACK IN THE MID WESTERNS/DAYS you didn't have a frag limit and only had a timelimit to see which player gets the most frags. I was wondering if it was possible to return the old ways ffa worked instead of a frag limit, I honestly think that it would be better than fraglimits. The only disadvantage is that some people like fraglimits and some dont and you cant pleasure them with it, I'm wondering if it's posible to have a vote to see the agreements.

I would actually like to see a bit more maps supported with DM, i know aerowalk and 2 others are supported but they have to be mymap'd into rotation, 16 players in dm1-7 is really really annoying and not fun to play in except for a few certain players (qwerty for example) as they are high pingers and just love to spam their fingers out.

is there a possibility to add some more (maybe larger) maps into the rotation? i just dont think original dm maps are built for 16 players running around... as far as no frag limit i don't really think its an issue sometimes i like the challenge of trying to get to 30 as fast as i can.. but that's just me.

and my suggestion calls for adding a few more, not completely removing dm1-8.
I wouldn't want to jeopardize the traffic dm receives from all those 'diehard fans'.

Maybe Sgt. Dick and others can chime in from my post:

Back in the day at Enter.net, their main server used to have a mixture of dm AND custom maps, and it was always full as shit at all hours of the day and night, never saw the server drop off at all really.  For me, I loved that.  It gave everyone a chance to enjoy all the maps they loved, plus try out ones in rotation they don't play as much either.  What made it good was that all the maps were good choices, custom and dm-wise.

I say that there should be some additions, slowly at first.  Maybe just add in ztn2dm3 permanently to see if people can jive with that or not.  Then start adding in others slowly.  See what works and what doesn't.  Since we have an admin who actually gives a shit (not the case with enter.net), the test-bombing could be easily done.

So yeah, I say at least try it out.  Enter.net was a really great server because of that, everyone loved playing there.  Would love to see a server like that again, here, in this community.  :>

the level of fun, activity, and effort peeps put into ffa on enter has not been replicated or matched here - for me at least-

and i think the main reason is the 30 frag limit and the 'bleh' map rotation

getting a top score on a map, having 90 frags and 2 or 3 deaths when the next closest player has 55 frags and 50 deaths

that makes it worth playing

i'm not worth changing things for if everyone else likes stuff as is    just giving my 2 cents worth :headbang:

there is a dm server called dm2 that the admins are historically happy to change around to suit different needs.
leave DM alone.

If enough people actually like the format change, and you spend your time there inviting and bringing people in, dm2 will be populated.

they are not in rotation... only certain players mymap them in and nobody gives a fuk..they are all in there to just play.

I think I remember a specific bunch of purist players flipping shit when people considered putting "NON-ACCEPTABLE MAPS" in the rotation.

It would make some people happy, but my guess is it would also annoy a lot of players as well.

That bought back some memories, a lot of good players on those list, except EX  and Cheap Charlie (me aliased) :badgrin:.

The Mutant server is setup a lot like what Enter.net used to be. 
The problem is that Q2 is not what it was back then, there are not enough players to fill Vanilla, DM, and Mutant.
I like to play when there are at least 4-5 other players on, and that does not happen very often on the Mutant server.
Sadly, unless a few of the Vanilla and DM players are convinced to play on Mutant, I don't see a very active Mutant server  :raincloud:
