So i was told tonight that i wasnt an old school quake player and was getting ticked off by some other people, so i just decided to post a photo of my quake folder to show

I have been playing with the same folder from over 15 yrs ago, with files coming in and out, i highlighted the dates showing 1997

hopefully thats proof enough so gtfo..

so if ur feeling up for it, post any pics showing how far back u go

FYI, every time you install Quake 2, it shows some files modified date as 1997, and some as 1998.  Has nothing to do with when you installed it.  The original files that get copied off the CD are marked with that date.  So in essence this proves nothing.

Now if you have some demos or screen shots from that far back, post 'em up.

No, ex is right, you fail. The timestamps on those files are from the ISO or from one of the point releases. You have no way of proving anything from this screenshot, sorry.

it is at least vista, doesnt say "my computer"

but idk why anyone would use install files to prove anything... we have all wiped out a q2 directory at least once over the years

Like I said 2dum, if you want to prove to the nay-sayers that you are an absolute old schooler, all you need to do is post a directory with screenshots or demos or even condumps from back in the day.  Those will indeed have the official date in which they were created, and you will have your day as a dog.   

BTW, just so you know, I personally do believe that you are an old schooler.  Your play style reminds me of plenty of people back in the day.  Most the newer play styles are based on speed and extreme chiseled aim...these were less of factors pre-2000, so you don't have to fight to make yourself believable to most the true old schoolers here.

it's everyone's favorite pastime to lie about being "old school" in a competitive sense in q2(you don't see this in the ffa/usual ts crowd).

this is like 99% of everyone whether they want to admit it or not, so i'm not even calling or singling out 2d.
