So I finally broke down and picked up one of the next gen systems. Up until this point I've never owned a gaming machine beyond the capabilities of my computer. I did a couple days of research and PS3 just seemed to be the better made system all around as well as their free multiplayer service vs xbox's paid was a big plus in my opinion. Question is, what games should I be playing? I got Borderlands 2, Skyrim, Battlefield 3 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 when I bought it, any other suggestions?

The Uncharted series should be on the list of games to get. Metal Gear Solid 4, Gran Tourismo 5, Killzone 3, God of War.

The PS3 exclusives/classics are a great place to start.

Picked up Uncharted 1, been fucking STUCK to the machine. Game is awesome! Going to pick up the others!

Oh and make sure you pick up the "PS3 Media Player"

It's an app you run on your computer that syncs with your PS3 to play many different video and audio formats from the PS3. It also works for other networked media devices (my theater system can pick it up as well.)

haha, the guy who sold it to me at best buy told me about that. I'm def gonna get that up and running. Pretty cool how many applications this system has beyond gaming, my wife went pretty much batshit crazy over the netflix. Already talks of getting another one for the downstairs just for this.

Also, I've heard mixed reviews about Resident Evil 6. Some praise it as being an amazing addition to the series, some call it a different game all together that got away from the original RE titles. Think I'll be picking it up either way, being a fan of the game as I am already.

ALSO, I've red speculation of a standalone copy of Dayz beyond the PC being brought to the console (PC success pending of course). I already consider Dayz a classic so I would pick it up as well for sure.

you picked up games that are all better on pc.... not seeing why you got a ps3 instead of a decent computer....

there is games that are better on console, and a few exclusive titles, but the ones you mentioned are all better on pc... personally if i got a ps3, first thing id do is pick up all the 3rd person hack and slash games that either aren't as fun on pc or aren't on the pc at all

god of war 3 and dantes inferno for a start

I have a lot of friends and family who own PS3's, my brother and a bunch of childhood friends play together all the time and I wanted to get in on the fun. Fun it is, a shit ton of it.

PS3 = Peace Shit 3 and neeedless to say it FUCKING SUX BRO do yourself a favor and get a MODED not Regular but lift up the heat sinks from the CPU in your Brand New Up-To-Date Technology Xbox 360 yes they make slight Hardware changes as time goes on.

Yea...anyway, I just picked up Assassins Creed 3 and Uncharted 3, few of my buddies at work play it online all the time and we wanna team up and destroy some shit. At this point, I think I have enough shooter games for the time being. Want to focus on other game types, anyone have experience with any?

I just got done playing through the main story missions of Assassins Creed 3 a day or two ago. Was at like 36% complete at that point. Putz'ed around finding all the treasure chests and feathers on the Frontier map for an extra day to get to somewhere like 48% complete.

My official opinion of the game... is that it pretty much stinks. I saw the commercials for it and liked the idea of whooping some ass in the Colonial America setting, gameplay itself is pretty stupid. The whole "open conflict" fighting thing is just dumb to me. The moves look cool enough, but it's just not as graphic as they could've made it. You're hacking away at people with bayonets, swords, axes, tomahawks, etc, and NOBODY LOSES ANY FUCKING LIMBS! COME ON, MAN! I wanna see hands and arms and heads coming off! And that's really just a minor gripe. The major thing I didn't like about it was the endless barrage of cutscenes. The game is more or less like simply watching a computer animated movie where every once in a while, you get to control the little man on screen to make him act out the movie. It was fun for a little bit, but it ain't something I'd say has a ton of replay value. I highly doubt I'll even worry about trying complete anymore of it at this point.

Oh yeah. And before I forget... the credits at the end.

When are these people gonna STOP IT with the 30 minute long credits at the end? That shit pissed me off royally. You gotta SIT THERE and wait through ALL OF IT! You can't hit E or ESC or anything to skip it. I - DO - NOT - CARE!!! I don't care how many billions of fucking assholes worked on trillions of different things to bring me the fucking game. The damn credits went on FOREVER AND FOREVER AND FOREVER. People playing this game are obviously part of the video game generation, the instant gratification generation. Do they really think I have THAT MUCH of an attention span? I swear to fucking Mohammed, I was completely expecting them to list the janitors in all of the office buildings they worked in at some point. Why not? They listed fucking everybody else apparently.

If you like sandbox exploring type of shit I would suggest skyrim since it seems you wouldn't get it on pc

and farcry3 which just came out.. it is basically skyrim with guns and it is also quite fun

all of the assassins creed games are actually quite good, so if you like the gameplay of those pick em all up

i personally love the armored core games, and the ps3 ones (4, foranswer, and V) are faster than the earlier ones but many say they don't play as good as the earlier ones

dishonored is great

another one of those ones that came out recently that is just amazing... SOOOO many good games came out this year it is ridiculous

everything I can think of right now is an FPS.... rage is worth playing, idc what anyone says about that it really is, there is portal and portal2 which if you haven't played nextgen stuff in years you should get those asap... then there is good narrative FPS games like metro 2033
