Cloud storage is more affordable and far more reliable than anything you could do in your house.

Could need internet, which I assumed if I need my backsups I wouldn't have internet to download stuff from. 

I make periodic DVD backups of documents and downloaded files.  It's worked since '99 and, at worst, if  drive goes I just reinstall my OS, the software I want and put my documents back where they go.
