Resolution: 10000x10000?

Ok, let me explain. i Bought quake 2 on steam for fun. I am fairly new :3 So i was wondering if anyone could answer my question about resolution; When i turn it up it goes into windowed mode and stays that way. can i fix this without reinstalling?

the steam version runs stock 3.20 which is fine, but most people would prefer using a third party client to fix shit...

do you intend to only play singleplayer or hop into deathmatch mostly?

also, if you turn up the resolution, it doesn't make it any less pixelated you can get some high res texture pak files if you dig around a little bit, and if you intend to mostly play sp you can rock a client like kmq2 or egl

for deathmatch, something like q2pro, aprq2, or r1q2 (community favorite among better players) will suite your needs best

generally the commands are:
vid_forcewidth "<width>"
vid_forceheigth "<height>"
vid_restart

and you should be good
