I was forwarded this article about Microsoft's plans for the future. it's pretty sick and disgusting, but it may well break their monopoly if they go through with it.

Helpful information. I was currently thinking either or not to buy Win8 or just switch to Linux.  The choice seems more obvious now. ;)

Dual-booting Win7 x64 and Ubuntu 12.04 here. Is it sick that a lot of older Windows games run better through WINE than natively on Win7??

EDIT: I'm sticking with Win7 (and my XP and 2000 VMs) regardless... Win8 is already looking like it's going to suck balls, and that's something I've never really felt about a major Windows version number before!

Depends if you can handle the lack of support. If you're a PC gamer who plays all the new games, then you're definitely screwed because the newer versions of DirectX aren't supported.
