Hello!
Our initial release of WODX for Warsow is up and running on a TS server.
Note: this server is running an outdated version of Warsow 0.61, not 1.0!
If you try to join using 1.0 you'll not be able to connect since its not backwards compatible.
We're planning to switch over to Warsow 1.0 soon, but it will require an OS update first.
I'm hoping quadz can get this done in the near future, so we can go full throttle.
If you want to try it out right now, and get a feel for the game, you'll need:

Unzip anywhere, then create an autoexec.cfg in the basewsw folder:

//autoexec.cfg

bind space +hook
bind alt sonic

autoexec.cfg will also work from ex:
C:\Warsow 0.6\weapons\autoexec.cfg
or
C:\Users\(username)\AppData\Roaming\Warsow 0.6\weapons\autoexec.cfg
(Note: On Win 7/Vista - AppData is hidden, so change: Folder Options / View / Hidden files and folders -> Show hidden files, folders and drives.)

Run warsow_x86.exe (not 64bit version, since I've yet to compile 64bit mod)
Use "find a game" in Main Menu to double click on "wodx test - warsow server"
Or type the following in the console to connect:

connect 74.86.171.200:44400

Warsow is a perfect match for WODX since it's fast paced, fast loading, usually...
First time you'll need to download "maps_quake2.pk3", and since its over 10mb it might take a while!
So grab a coffee because http download server isn't setup yet (i.e. set sv_uploads_baseurl "http://www.myweb.com/basewsw/")
The game has great modern looking graphics, and it supports a delicious range of BSP formats:
Q1, Q2, Q3, FBSP... so we'll have the best of all quake worlds.
Let me know which weapons you'd like me to port over first...

I am downloading it now. I hope it has gamepad support. (microsoft sidewinder).

I like the name WAR SOW for some weird reason. Might change my handle to WAR BOAR.

Yup as long as its 0.61 and you can connect afterwords it should be fine.
It's just weird that you can't download from gamefront.com. I just tried again and had no problems.

Since the mega-games one is a setup file, make sure to install it outside of program files or you will likely have to "run as administrator" each time to make changes, if you're on Win 7 or Vista that is.

Trying to connect to that server. It went through some "downloading...pk3" something or other. Then I get "Connection Failed". Reason: Failed to load UI dll. Tried disabling firewall. No go.

Don't use the desktop or start menu shortcut, because by default its 64bit on 64bit machines. Double click on warsow_x86.exe in the warsow folder.

Changed: Mode from DM to FFA (Free for All), so now you start off with all weapons, and only have to pickup ammo. The one player bot should also be a little easier to kill now as well.

Currently on the todo list:
swing laser hook, bazooka, violator, stinger, trip wires, IEDs, as well as couple grenade types: napalm, flame, plasma. Model replacements for ammo and items (they could look nicer)
Also would like to add some basic gore and frag effects.

Also if we could only get HTTP downloads to work here, this place would start looking more like Whale, and less like Snail

I dont know what I did but now the built-in game browser in Warsow stopped listing any games at all. WTF. It was working great at first. How do I get to test server with just the address?
