It's getting kind of chilly in my neck of the woods but I am on the coast. Those sea breezes can make you reach for the thermal underwear.

Initially I figured it might be a month or so before the upgrade happened, but the continued unrelenting spammer registration deluge effectively hastened the schedule.

How about the  accounts, how is the new forum engine dealing with those?

The new forum allows security questions to be asked during the registration process.  I've set up easy ones related to id Software games or well-known employee names.

So far, not a single spammer has gotten through.

Good job so far. Although clean and to the point the old forum wasn't exactly visually appealing or anything but I'm sure most of us got used to it so I think it's nice that the upgrade keeps resemblance to the old style.
Minor detail: I noticed that on the forum homepage having both "Last Post" and "Today" in bold text is somewhat confusing. Only keeping "Today" in bold would make it just a little easier to quickly scan that page and see what's new today.

Another thing: how about using the old stars below the names instead of just yellow/blue/red boxes? They're kinda boring.
