this is how I rank usa players taking duel/TDM/map knowledge/style clashes into consideration....

people better than me that play occasionally or show their face in IRC at least:

naym, ah!, adren, pyr3x

people I feel are closest to me:

slugs, kickr0

next 2 after that(these two have far better map knowledge than any person below in the list, whether someone has better dm1 game or not):

vae, fader

after that:

kyuss, the_king, senz, etc.

after that....sort of:

ma5, barton, xanax, chiefin, etc.

side note: FlarEZ with a low ping and in practice/trying would EASILY get into the 2nd group. I am sure I missed out a few players, and I'm open-minded to being wrong about a thing or two, call me out if so. There is a good bit of gray area between the last two groups; barton may have the most vast map knowledge out of everyone, chiefin has good dm3 game, etc... Both are capable of winning sets against the largely dm1-only crowd I placed above them. That is close to how I view it, though... I'd particularly value the opinion of the people in the first 2 groups, and the 3rd.

...meaning I agree, kyuss doesn't make top 5 in a game that only has about 10 decent players left.

ALSO @QUADZ i know how to use grep, i use it every day.... but think about how often a 3 letter combination like ipa would show up :/ i might cut it down to 500 demos that i would have to search through manually which is still not worth it

Since you have so many demos, have you ever considered putting the demos against certain players in folders named for that player.  What good are all of those demos, if you can't find one when you want to

vae- that is me breaking down the last remaining 15 players left that even play, and if anything I related you with the group below you, not above. you're several steps below to the extent that no one gives a shit how much you suck to even define it, and as for fader..... I was likely a *little* tough on him with that comparison(he's better than you), but like I said it's just a break down of the last 12-15 players left for crying out loud. speaking of fader, EVERYONE knows that you quit playing because he started dunking on you a few months ago. And then you start playing more / getting full of yourself when 1) I don't play for the summer, 2) adren doesn't play for the summer , 3) fader is banned, and 4) no one good is even on.

Post these demos, still waiting.

Obviously you don't know much about grep, newblet, or you'd have realized the example I posted searches for 'ipa' only at word boundaries.

Searching all my demos for 2012 with the regexp provided in my prior post turned up exactly two kinds of demos:

 - demos where e|ipa was actually playing
 - exactly 5 false positives out of 3308 demos searched, where someone was talking about India Pale Ale

I'm not saying anyone's scared, but it seems whenever the juicy best of 5 challanges come up somebody turns it down . Im sure other people would love to see a best of 5 out of all this.
