Regardless if I'm right or wrong on your intentions for asking in that post for gtv admin access, you shouldn't be given it due to well elaborated reasons explained here. Shady players shouldn't be given admin access.

Theoretically yes, if someone malicious gained access to r1ch's servers. But in practical terms for most users I'm skeptical that it makes any difference that the update is silent. If it always brought up a box asking, "Anticheat needs to download an update. [OK] [CANCEL]" everyone would be used to clicking on [OK] by default anyway. Same result, I think.

This has historically been my position as well. My view is that Q2 is not a Windows-only game. So I am naturally resistant to Q2 servers being configured to allow only Windows clients.
