Ventrilo/Teamspeak are programs where you can talk and listen to your teammate while you're in game. It's neat to use and really useful esp. in team games.

of course you should be able to use this.. i wont thought becasue sound in q2 is more important.. plus im so used to binds. I don't see why this should not be allowed.

vents ok with me,

only problem I have with it is spectators. Thats why I liked the way udml handled it, not allowing spectators.
I've had someone on the other end telling me what was going down while I was playing a match. I lost, but still, fealt
even more dirty than when I used a wallhack

I have a Vent server setup where you can connect and there's 2 channels.. Home and Away, I can password protect them and have the password changed daily if needed.

Of course not. Unfair advantage unless everyone playing has the ability to use it. Some people here do not have mics, so they are immediately at a distinct disadvantage against two players who do. And plus spectators will cheat, it's a given.

you can stop the spectators from cheating with it, just make sure the players are the only ones in a password protected channel on vent or smoething.. if u dont have a mic then thats too bad, its like saying we shouldnt use opengl cause some of us dont have video cards and its unfair! :\

yeah, vents kewl. Spectators too, I should have clarified it more as a possible problem than one I actually had with it. I know I got a kick out of being there to watch any of the matches from tourney3. And another
kick out of watching the demos and seeing what all was said during my games
