I occasionally play at DM, and I find that the server fills up quite often. I notice there are some players that are AFK for days at a time connected there. These AFK players should be kicked, so more people are able to join the server when it maxes out.

I've been guilty of being AFK for a ridiculous number of time too.
I just alt-tab and forget to come back in and the hours slip by.
It is reassuring to know that Q2 is always there for me though.
Never have I been AFK for a whole day however, I don't leave my computer on all night.
I'm getting better with it thought being I'm not so busy anymore.

C'mon bro, it takes seconds to launch quit/launch quake2. This is actually one of the reasons I love it! It is so fast to get in and start shotting

Not really because there is no force respawn like in openffa, so the AFK player is hidden for the whole map duration after their first death.

Yeah that's true. Personally I like force respawn but not having it probably does cut down on telefrags! Although I got telefragged a lot today. LOL

Leaving q2 on for that long also slows down your computer's performance, which in turn slows down q2. It's always best for the life of your computer to shut it off when you're not going to be on it for long periods of time.

I leave mine on, but I do run SETI@Home so at least it IS doing something useful while idling.
