dm server skins

I have gotten some mixed answers from people in regard to my problem here...

so I made a thread. What cmd do I put in my cfg that forbids the downloads of other skins or something? idk... Cows are seriously the least of it, it's more so shit like this that's bugging me:

I have that set by default. Now, there are times when I see a grunt skin but there is no sounds for foot steps or jumping. Is that because some files may have been downloaded and others haven't? Anyone know?

It's the spawn pad model and lemming skin. All you have to do is take a stock grunt model and skin and put it in the lemming folder. Simply rename the grunt.pcx "lemming" or whatever the skin is called and viola.

I don't know why anyone would play dm or vanilla without custom skins. It takes the fun out of it.

Look at the blood being issued from that hyper(in the "lemming" screenshot).. it's not even hitting him. Having to purposefully miss to hit something that is very small and jumping? This is supposed to be fun? lol.. I was even splashing all around that fucker and would repeatedly miss even if the thing was touching the explosion.... Sorry but there is nothing fun in that or a skin that looks like a real spawn pad when it crouches.

Even with this set, if your config isnt saved as autoexe, it will turn back on and download when it feels like it.  Very annoying, So i made my config read only and i have not had a problem in weeks.

that is usually an issue with a server stuffing you the commands to allow all the different downloads.... would always get pissed cause the digitalfrag servers used to do that, so id play some tourney, hop over to railz, and download a bunch of stupid ffa player bullshit -.- figured out the issue though and its fixed now... but most of the time thats the cause if it still downloads when you have it in your autoexec.cfg
