I agree with this one, but I also want to clarify that he isn't 100% black, people forget that he is half white.  I won't consider us to have a "black" president until he is at least as black as Bill Duke.

Obama is a good mix.  He's an example of how mixed-race children can succeed in life.  I have a lot of friends who are half-white half-black and say that they can't make it in the world because they're too black to have the whites like them, and too white to have blacks accept them.  To me, it's bullshit - this world is about how hard you work nowadays, not whether you're mixed or not.  Most Americans are mixed more than Campbell's soup.

Of course, there have been several claims that quite a few of our Presidents have had some black ancestry in them, dating all the way back to the last 1700s.  This issue really isn't "new"...all throughout our history there have been plenty of great historical figures who have come under fire because of their mixed heritage.

Of course, the biggest insult is that almost all American families that have been here for over 3-4 generations have some amount of American Indian in them.  It's usually these same idiots who attack Obama for being a mixture.  Go figure.

Well if I were an American Indian, personally I'd find it more insulting if a white person considered themselves to be part Native American simply because their great great great great grandmother was Cherokee. (and mine is... and I'm fuckin' white... period.) Then again, some of them LOVE it when redneck trailer trash white people are so culture starved that they'll cling to something so thin. They make great money off of them selling them cheap crap at the Native American Festivals.

Yeah I think I have 1/16-1/32 of two different American Indian tribes in my bloodline, one of them tracing back to the Battle of Little Big Horn.  That's about as far as I go with it, however...I could care less about racial specifics, the 70% + German, Irish, and Scottish in me is far more prevalent than the Indian.  I was raised white anyway so that's all that really matters.

The only thing I wish I was more Indian for is the whole gambling rights thing.  I can't believe our government actually supports this simply based on a percentile.  You can get free rights to land to screw over other Americans simply because you have a high percentage of Am. Indian blood in you.

One of my friend's grandparents was 1/4 some sort of Am. Indian and got a free check for life which adjusted for inflation, free schooling, a free fucking house with property taxed paid for by the government.  It's shit like that that's caused our economy to turn to shit nowadays, people unwilling to work and the government supporting those people, simply based on heritage.

I've got a better idea for everybody:  Get to work!  You always feel better about yourself and your bloodline when you grind your work-ax yourself against the stone of life.

If everybody did this, we wouldn't have AS many problems economically.
