I guess that depends on who you talk to and what type situation they were/are in over there. Afghanistan tribesmen used .303 British Enfields to kill thousands of Russians. Now that these guys are our enemies, I suppose they still use a lot of old school stuff (junk, too). I have heard (you know how reliable that can be) that when our guys had malf trouble with their guns in dusty rugged conditions, they where more than happy to pick up an AK. The AR is sweet, but I wish they issued our guys more rugged .308's. Just a layman's view.

Well AK's are made by 9 year old vietnamese kids working in dingy factories, whereas m4's are more high-dollar precision pieces of equipment. True, they are more prone to malfunction in certain environments than kalashnikovs, but the marine and army GI have been trained to keep their weapon in proper working order. Nothing a little tape over the end of the muzzle can't cure. Also, I'm pretty sure Uncle Sam has contractual obligations to purchase so many 556 fmj rounds every year. It's not like the people USING the equipment really have that much say over how the budget is used. The military will always opt to go with a 556 round for commonality purposes anyway. Since 556 rounds can be scavenged almost anywhere, it's just smarter use it in combat.

A friend of mine who is into drag racing (old school Camaros, Barracudas, etc.) was at the track for a big weekend of events. The weekend included an import event on Saturday, the place was packed with Puerto Ricans. The track changed the menu in the concession stand, the announcements were done in Spanish. They were blaring their music and basically trashing the place. They were very loud and obnoxious, the majority of them were drunk. The group behind my friend were tasering each other for fun. He told me his son wanted to make sure he was carrying while they were there.

I can just imagine what a event in Mexico is like.

Bad idea there. If you have a concealed permit and carry it into any sporting event, that violates your permit. Even if there's a loophole to get around that being classed as a "sporting event", they were obviously serving alcohol at this event, which would also be a violation. Carry at your own peril at that point. Shit goes down, do whatever you can to NOT have to draw. But if you HAVE to, you better pick up every last casing and run like hell afterwards.

And for 6.5 mil, it's actually pretty cheap. That's still like... 6.1million dollars outta my price range though.

Love the rustic lodge look throughout. And while it looks pretty fucking tush, they probably cut quite a few corners in the extravagant luxury department, which is why I say 6.5 to 7 mil is pretty cheap. Typically in high dollar fancy-pants houses, kitchens will have those insanely high priced Wolf induction stovetops, where those look like plain old gas. But that's totally cool in my opinion. Wouldn't WANT an electric stovetop. If the power goes out, you can still cook. Then again, if you have 7 million dollars for a house, chances are pretty good you'll also have plenty of money to keep some generators around in case shit like that ever happens.

FINALLY! Someone in major network television has a fucking brain (and didn't get it from Lorne Michaels)! I used to watch a couple of the late shows when I was in high school. Mainly I'd watch Jay Leno and Conan after that. Not that I didn't like David Letterman, cuz I did. But him and Leno were on at the same time. I had to pick one, so I picked Leno. Dunno why. He was no Johnny Carson, but it was still the Tonight Show. And... Now they've got this ex-SNL douchenuts on there... and I'd rather watch paint dry than THAT shit. I wasn't watching it before, and I DAMN SURE ain't gonna be watching it now.

John Stewart might think he's God's gift to Comedy Central, but honestly, if he was all that wonderful, it would be HIM hosting one of the major network late night shows. Suck it, Stewart.

Knowing that my dude Colbert is gonna be hosting next year, I might actually start watching late night shows again.
