maybe have some sort of community ventrillo? people can get on when playing pickup games and 1v1's..have different channels for the different mods, just a thought..

I have admin on that server..I could make a TastySpleen Q2 channel if I can get the proper permission, and if I have to, I'll pay for a vent server for us if I can't.

*yawn* *stretch* OK I haven't googled this yet... is this something I could run on tastyspleen.net? We still have some bandwidth left...

Errr.. OK I'm downloading the Linux ventrilo server binary now... If anyone has any server config files for it or whatever they'd like to share, please send 'em my way... I'll try setting the thing up this weekend sometime...

OK we now have (in theory) a ventrilo server running on tastyspleen.net port 3784.

Let me know if we need more... There is an 8-client maximum on the free version of ventrilo. But I could set up separate ventrilo servers, maybe one per tourney server, plus a couple extras? (We'll have to see how much CPU it uses...)

FYI - Per the ventrillo site

"The server CPU utilization under most conditions won't even register, so a fairly low level computer should be more then sufficient.

Bandwidth usage is determined by the codec and is dictated by the server. It could be as low as 600 bytes/sec or as high as 8000 bytes/sec per voice stream."

Server files are available in Linux
