Here's the jump bind I use, which is better than the one posted here. It adjusts according to your cpu speed, latency and lag.

Quote
bind MOUSE2 "+2j"

alias wt "w2"
alias w8 "wait"
alias w2 "w8; w8"
alias w3 "w2; w8"
alias w4 "w2; w2"
alias w5 "w4; w4; w4"
alias w6 "w7; w7; w7; w7"
alias w7 "w4; w8"
alias w9 "w4; w4"
alias w12 "w4;w4;w4"
alias w13 "w4; w4; w4; w8"
alias w20 "w5;w5;w5;w5"
alias +2j "+$mu;wt;-$mu;wt;+$mu"
alias -2j "-$mu"

alias a1 "alias wt w2; bind kp_minus a2;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x2: 500Mhz"
alias a2 "alias wt w4; bind kp_minus a3;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x4: 700Mhz"
alias a3 "alias wt w5; bind kp_minus a4;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x5: 800Mhz"
alias a4 "alias wt w12;bind kp_minus a5;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x12: 950Mhz"
alias a5 "alias wt w13;bind kp_minus a6;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x20: 1000MHz"
alias a6 "alias wt w20;bind kp_minus a7;bind mouse2 +2j;echo x20: better"
alias a7 "bind mouse2 +moveup;bind kp_minus a1;echo x1: ALL"

a5;

set mu "moveup"

Make sure you set the bind to another key other than your regular jump button. Press the keypad minus key to change the jump settings according to your likings. Enjoy!

Im sorry, but I use this bind to help me jump, I know for a FACT that the top jumpers including Haunted have a jump bind to help them.

Because when it comes to jumping fast and quick to get the fastest time on the map, there is no room for mistakes like a missed double jump (the human body isn't perfect), this bind will let you double jump EVERY SINGLE TIME.

So there are people who would benefit and use this script and there are people who would prefer to do things naturally.

I have problems aiming a bit sometimes...should I use a bot to compensate the fact the the human body isn't perfect?

I thought it was part of the game to miss jumps sometimes when you're in a hurry. I view q2 the same way I view sports...you practice to get better and sometimes you make mistakes even if you practiced something for a very long time. Oh well...

I use mouse2 and my index finger. Movementscripts are something I don't really think much of, at least in deathmatch. The ability to perform advanced moves in stressed situations is something I've practiced since I started q2, and to me the risk of failure involved is an essential part of the game for me.

Don't know how much it helps, but if you really need it to enjoy the game I'm not gonna stop anyone.

Someone please post a bind to help my aim.
I hope you're not implying that a jump bind is the equivalent to an aim bot. I understand and agree that natural is the way to go. I'm such a jumping n00b that I used the bind just to assure myself that I was actually capable of doing the jumps. Now that I know I can, It gives me confidense to practice naturally.

I was not implying that a bot and a jumping alias is the same thing...I was just making fun of the comment digency made about no room for errors and the human body being not perfect.

I just said that because in my mind, that's what's fun in a game. The imperfection and different styles everyone has. Some have incredible aim but average movements...somtiems it's the other way around. That's what makes games fun. If everyone was perfect, jumping and aiming perfectly where would be the fun in this? It would pretty much be the equivalent of being all bots.

I just think it sucks when ppl always go for the easy way out instead of learning to jump naturally.

Besides some jump bind, what do people suggest for improving jumping?  repetitive practice on the dm maps, jump practice on jumpmod, any specific config settings (cl_maxfps 60 or 120, or?).
