Techie deletes Quake II off Comp

So, OK, here's my Question and would welcome feedback onto this thread.  A Computer techie came into my friends home and starts working on his comp, he also plays alot of games. Halo, WoW, etc.  He also has Quake II on it, but for some odd reason, I come over the next day and was told Quake II had some problem with it, had a virus?? so he just went ahead and Deletes the whole QII off his HD.    um, I have never heard of anything like that before. Are techs allowed to do that? I just find that just really strange for him to do that.  Anyways, Happy New Year everyone.    (I got the v3.20 of QII on a 16 gb USB drive)

It was anticheat.dll, most likely. It's a false-positive... not really a virus.

Find the guy and remove his WoW. Cite that the Blizzard Updater uses BitTorrent protocol that is used by pirates and it must be illegal.

In reality, that guy is a fucking idiot. Run a smear campaign on him in all your local media. Edmonton right?

If that tech was competent to do his job he would have only let the virus scanner the anticheat.dll which is the only file that would have showed up as a false-positive on the scan. This is incompetent and inexcusable.

No, I just thought it was a really dumb thing to do on his part, no big problem, I just re-installed QII, now I just gotta figure on how to put the maps and models back, lol
