This has also happened to me twice in the last two weeks. two different people were invisible in railz or dm or mutant. I reconnected and it fixed the problem only for a moment and the player went invisible again.

It probably had something to do with him spamming a bunch of votes over and over that alter dmflags on the server.
Perhaps there's some bug in the mod. I'm not saying more without more info.

I was hoping your vote for ztn2dm3 was going to pass.  I wonder if the glitch would have survived a map change.

There is a "known" invincibility glitch on the FFA servers.  It's apparently extremely rare.  It's never happened for me, but at least one of our admins has seen it.  Where your health wraps around to 65535 or something (but just shows as the low three digits.)

It's conceivable this same glitch exists in the OpenTDM codebase as well.

If someone has finally found a way to reproduce this glitch at will, then I suppose it is in some sense good news, as once we can reproduce it reliably we can fix it.

Do you happen to recall which of the tourney servers this occurred on?  (Or, I can grep the logs for the player chat...)

Wow, it just occurs to me a simple workaround has been available all along to prevent his mute avoidance.  I'll implement that right now...

In this case, no.  It occurred to me it's always been possible to modify his name-ban to kick if his name starts with ":".

Didn't I reply at the time that the leading-colon parsing problem has been known for years?  It also affects goto and mymap......

I still don't have a general solution, but, it's occurred to me that wallfly could kick someone on connect (or on name_change) if they're supposed to be muted, but their name starts with ":".
